I've just received a neat little headphone amp to go in the control cavity of a bass from Owen. The transaction was easy. We arranged by PM and I made a bank transfer. Owen packed it the same day (Friday) and I received it today (Monday) despite the pandemic, It was still in its envelope as sent to Owen. He got two so don't worry, I left him with one. Owen is a thoroughly nice chap and I don't hesitate to recommend you deal in confidence with him.

As mentioned clamping in one direction alone does not guarantee that movement will not occur before the bond goes off. If this was easy, you wouldn't be enjoying it so much. This IS a cracking thread. It's good to see someone challenge themselves with due consideration of the alternatives. Respect.

I know. They're not exactly sophisticated bass lines but they'll be a real test of my stamina. Getting that much drive into my groove may prove a challenge but it's definitely one worth tackling. It's harder than it looks.

It's not a colour scheme that works for me but it does look the business.

It might be wisest not to remove any wood in this area. The clearance hole and access point for the truss rod already weakens the neck. As far as I know you can't reinforce it with a volute after either.

No apologies necessary. I was pulling your leg to some extent. You will find that pickguards can be more controversial than you'd ever imagined all the same.
