  1. I kinda liked the 1967 Casino Royal. Herb Alpert and he Tijuana Brass were rousing on that soundtrack.
  2. Even I'm not going to look for the TAB version.
  3. Oo. Mysterious. I like mysterious... just so long as you provide closure at some point on the forum.
  4. I kinda got that. It wouldn't really be a criticism to say so either. Your quick turn-arounds must surely provide inspiration for that special bass build you're going to do one day. You know, the one where you spec for hot pups and pramps. I see plenty of others here getting inspired. No shortage of ideas and proof of concept builds with your build pages. Good man!
  5. @hiram.k.hackenbacker had an issue with a neck in the last few months with a Fender. At first and in order to quickly fix the issue he bought a Status neck to replace the Fender one with the broken truss rod. This was good enough to help him keep his gig commitments. In the end, I believe Fender supplied a new neck without making the additional demands you mention. Mr Hackenbacker might be good enough to give a better comparison of the two situations (yours and his own). I doubt that it will help other than for interest though. I admire your determination to get a good result without throwing lots of money at Warwick.
  6. Well... they can't do you for it. I suppose it speeds up production somewhat doing it that way too. How does it stand up to scrutiny in the close-up stills from performances that you've had done for promotional material? Time will tell. Ignore me. I'm still a bit Mondayish. It's a great way to prove a concept while avoiding the tricky routing and bonding process.
  7. Welcome Shmeo.
  8. Oh they're definitely past their best. Send them to me and I'll take care of it for you.
  9. If I accidentally dropped a set of fret markers at your place I reckon you'd build a bass around them! Irrepressible.
  10. May I suggest you name one of them Joanna please?
  11. Beautiful job.
  12. Ooh! Thanks. That the composite one and all. My wooden one has a lovely voice. Something in me rebels against the notion of having one though. Composites are for aircraft and light structures in engineering generally. Too technical to make me feel there is much soul in it.
  13. I'd say that is a good place to start. Counselling can help you find your focus in life again. You've got to have people in your life to hear your ideas otherwise you are just living inside your own head. It can get gnarly in there sometimes.
  14. I think John Patitucci said that when you do finger exercises that you can sometimes feel pain but that you should not be in pain from doing them.
  15. Not at all. Everyone goes through crises at various times in their lives.
  16. Have you spoken to your GP about the feelings you get when you're isolated? It's easy to be self critical when there is no-one else there with you to give you a reality check. It is not uncommon for creative people to suffer with dark thoughts. Help is available in many forms to help you cope. I hope you get back to playing with your band soon.
  17. With it being fretless you'll end up with lovely clean lines to go with that fine grain, assuming it's going to be unlined or with subtle position markers. It ought to be a minimalist masterpiece. Good choice.
  18. Glad to hear that the loss of seven inches is not the carnage that might be imagined from such a topic title. Happy NBD!
  19. I'd sooner wire a UK plug on rather than use an adaptor too. Please don't tell me that the essential life skill of safely wiring a mains plug has been lost to the latter generations. I'm glad to hear that you've received the important bit though Ant, the bit with the strings. Even if you can't hear the subtleties of the amplified sound you can at least start toughening up your fingertips with repetitive rhythmic exercises.
  20. That's a unique piece of kit. I wish you many happy years of use from it. The effort you have put in should ensure its longevity.
  21. Are you going for a natural finish? You've got some interesting contrasting grain runs to play with.
  22. Welcome Pintspiller.
