  1. I did not try the Aftershock, nor the Pork&Pickle but I bought an Agro for the third time... so far it is the best for my taste. Nevertheless I don't sell the B3K right now, having 4 basses and 3 amps I can have one or two pedals in a drawer. The agro does not steal that much basses after all, it has a pretty natural tone opposite to the B3k. Being less sharp it can get lost easier but interacts much better before an EF to get a little synthy. A very good allrounder OD /distortion
  2. Si it does sound like "schtakapoukapoukapoukaschtakashtakapoukapouk"? Just kidding, it is really a sexy beast! (but i don't like slap)
  3. what are the preamp specs please , and is it a neck through construction (as it seems)? I don't know a lot about KS's. Thanks.
  4. Is it a matching white headstock? I don't think so but am not seeing very well on the pic.
  5. I was trying a joke on the fact a bitcrusher isn't meant for very quiet musical contexts or sweet melodies. Nevermind.
  6. Except if you play "Forbidden games" acoustic with a hint of bitcrushing.
  7. I did not know the cog mini 66 (GStQ) it seems pretty versatile. I'd be interested by an OD that can be cutting but also more blurred and muffled (to put before an EF).
  8. Some analog fuzzes with SAG can degrade sounds pretty well too.
  9. I used to own a Frantabit, it was very good indeed, you can for example manage some nasty velcroish fuzz sounds with it, apart from the ringy weirdo thing. Eventually I found it pretty useless and my woman was about to leave.
  10. shift pdq= loose a lot of value? Frankly it is not big but the weight is boring in times where heads are so light. The character is very pleasant indeed, it is versatile and natural sounding, just needs maybe a more Advanced eq and a blend.
  11. Great alone, lost in the mix (or too unpleasantly middy) IMO, steals basses. That said I've already bought it twice.
  12. Maybe you could swap one of your BB2's for a 4ohm big twin, so you can use it alone with the GK, and add the 8ohm BB with the EBS to run at 2,67 ohms with a little more power, spl and dispersion, with a quite balanced load for each cab. But I don't think this "breathing" thing is very convincing. Maybe the best to do if your like your cabs is keeping them.
  13. I've only read this on Onlybass. From what I hear in soundclips, it seems very darkglass-like, with an abrasive and tight grain that may be difficult to soften. But I don't talk from experience here.
  14. I don't know how it is made Inside, but if it's not the case he can decide to have standardized PCB's made to simplify the production, in this case he may think about a smaller circuit. A custom builder I know is into this kind of re-think for his faves units, precisely to spend less time building them.
  15. I agree. even his clean sound sounds hi-gain BTW I've heard the production of the mbd-1 is paused (do one say "paused"?)at this time.
  16. As far as I'm concerned I consider the B3K like a very good bass distortion more than an overdrive: It can be used like this but it's not where it shines. Apart from that I find boring to have a product in which one part is useless (had the SCR-DI and sold for that, won't buy the M900 cause I don't want to have a section of my amp I could get bored with, rather nothing. ) I must say, having tried the M900, that I can't really figure what's appealing in its clean sound, I find it lacks personnality.
  17. About the After Shock, I've heard some guys saying that there were lots of controls OK but always the same root tone, which was not that mad (edit i mean that great, don't know if "that mad" is understandable).
  18. If it has the D-tuner then it is a b2Adb. I had two in the past, Both were good basses and the last excellent.
  19. I wasn't getting your reply before you edit. Yes, it is an important factor. For example my Lime, which is a matamp preamp clone, has a variable hi-pass filter before the gain, so you can push it a lot, and the EQ controls after, so you can then get as hefty as you want.
