  1. Best option is to get an adapter and use whatever strings you like, Thomann sell them.
  2. Ashdown need to put that digital front end onto a modern micro amp, keep the one knob compressor but add a tuner/mute button. Imagine how cool it would be in an Gnome/BAM/Elf format.
  3. These are meant to be surprisingly good: https://www.thomann.de/gb/joyo_ma_10b_portable_bass_amp.htm Add bluetooth capability via an adapter in the aux input: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134771428268? I have one of those little BT adapters connected to my amp, I added an adhesive magnet to it so it doesn't move around. EDIT : This one is a quid more and has bluetooth built in: https://www.thomann.de/gb/yuer_portable_bass_amp_bluetooth.htm
  4. Have two regular and a dual concentric, they're off a Hohner JJ Pro so probably the same as other Korean Cort built Hohners
  5. Might have some, will have a look when I get a moment.
  6. Have a look on AliExpress, you'll probably be able to get exactly that bridge for not much money. I've bought 2 very similar ones in the last year or so for projects, I'll check my purchase history
  7. I think all the Chinese Arias I've played have that slim P profile, they all felt very similar anyway. Really comfortable necks IMO.
  8. Someone on here was selling one of those cheap Uke bass 5ers a while back, they'd spent a fair whack of money trying to get it to sound ok with more conventional strings and admitted defeat to the inevitable flub so looks like it'd be poly uke strings or nowt. EDIT: Thread here:
  9. I have a cheap fretless Uke bass, the same Batking one mentioned above and also an Ibanez Artcore Parlour bass which is 24" scale and uses the GS Mini strings. They're wildly different instruments really and each uses a unique type of string, neither are like a traditional bass and choosing between them depends on what you want it for, both are fun though especially the Ibanez. For upright style thump in a supportive role the uke bass might be what you need as the poly strings will get you there, the GS Mini strings on the 24" basses are basically like the wound strings on a classical (filament core with bronze wrap) and have a sound all of their own. Btw this is a good demonstration of what sort of sound the mini basses with D'addario GS Mini strings can produce, a lot of videos (including Taylor ones) are of guitarists making them sound terrible! https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1854447407928406
  10. Beautiful finish that, really suits the bass.
  11. I guess if you like the shape and want a 7 then why not go all in? I always hated the Vampyre but it did really suit the fella from Nightwish One of those basses that has the right look for the right player and gig, probably look a bit silly running through tatty old covers down the local like.
  12. Aria were always good, the shift to Korea and then China did diminish the brand but they were still churning out some nice entry to mid level basses. Well built, great necks, decent pickups and always nice to look at. Alongside the usual clones they still do some really eyecatching instruments like the FEB acoustics and the SB reissues. There's a really nice PEB65 LP style bass that I keep seeing on Facebook
  13. I still have an early Korean (Samick made) Integra which has the body writing but the short/broad headstock, again bought because it was a cheap way to get the Billy Gould connection! If you get lucky they still have the MIJ Aria bridges as they used some of the old parts. The pickups in mine are brutish, sound ace for anything heavy.
  14. A mate of mine had one of the high end Japanese TRBs many years ago, that was a 35" 6er with 19mm spacing and a pretty much flat radius. Was just a phenomenal instrument and surprisingly easy to play, looked really daunting though as the fretboard was huge!
  15. Ibanez BTB and Yamaha TRB have 19mm I think.
  16. I'm ok with the P2/P4 sizing for regular 5er and MS respectively as you can get Barts (proper ones), Aguilar or Nords in there which is a decent choice, all expensive though. Would EMG dimensions cater for multiscale 5ers?
  17. Yeah the BH2 are used across the SR, BTB and EHB range, Cort are only using the Mk series on their own brand basses.
  18. Apparently this is the BH2 wiring colour scheme according to TB: Neck side coil: green - gnd, white - hot Bridge side coil: black - gnd, red - hot. Bare wire is ground. Source: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/bartolini-bh2-and-ibanez-bass.1401884/page-4 Might save some money for people who aren't happy with the BH2 pickups.
  19. The BH2 in the EHB 100x series are regular humbuckers aren't they? I didn't mind the MKI wired passive as they were attached to the MKI preamp which was pretty bad, the 3EMP3LD in the EHB series is generally well regarded though.
  20. I think a few people over on TB wired the licensed Barts in parallel to counter the baked in dark sound a little, lowers the output so might be beneficial to switch to the +6db connector as well.
  21. The Platinum Stage and Pro are two different units, the Stage is more compact and lightweight (with a belt/strap clip) whereas the Pro is a floor unit with a nice screen for the inbuilt tuner and footswitches for mute and signal boost. The Stage has all the features you mention so the only difference for you would be the 3 position HPF on the Stage (40hz, 80hz & 160hz) vs the potentiometer on the Pro. They both sound great, I have both and use the Pro live at every gig. The Stage is used at home but I'd have no qualms about using it live if it had a mute and tuner function.
  22. Get the piezo sorted then put tapewounds on it, what buffer preamp do you have in the bass at the moment? Adding a mag pickup is going to make it sound less like an upright IMO. Also pluck the string with the side of your finger, if you want to go the whole hog then have the bass defretted.
