  1. EBS Octabass is pretty good and simple. Got mine for £50 second hand. I had a POG, just wasn't for me

    G&L

Yep, tinkering with L2000 circuits is so much fun. I thought I have my ASAT figured and then i got a semi hollow version and it's opened up even more avenues. Between the solid and the semi ASAT, I am very happy and can get most sounds from a P type sound through to very modern deep bass and brighter sonic territories. A G&L is for life, not just for Xmas

    G&L

I'm a big G&L fan, but you are correct they are difficult to source here in the UK. I took a punt on an ASAT solid body and got it shipped from the states after seeing it on Talkbass and doing a bit of research. All in including shipping and tax etc. It worked out either cheaper or the same as the prices here, but of course they did not have one like that over here. Best thing i ever did, i have gone on to own an L1500, which is their take of a stingray and now and ASAT Semi-Hollow. Like Gaz says they are some of the best made and sounding instruments you will find for the price anywhere in the world, yes he moved his on as he preferred a Fender sound which is cool, but its not a love or hate type of bass, you will either love it or really love it and not want to let it go. Quick look on the internet there are a couple on gumtree and ebay, and to get the neck specs then its on the G&L website. If its a defo P Bass you want LB100 is the classic sounding one, SB-2 PJ but you still get a Ptype sound, but with versatility, SB-1 is a P bass on major steroids. If you are going to take the plunge bear in mind they are 'hotter' pick ups than most other basses and the controls both volume and tone were designed to sit around 75% at max. The only negative side is that if you do make a purchase from wherever and you want to move the bass on, you my have to be patient because of the reason you stated that its not big in the UK, despite being fairly big across the pond and fantastic instruments. Good luck and let us know how you are getting on
  4. Well this is an LH1000 with a Barefaced Supertwin. It's plain Evil!
  5. No experience with the Genz but I think it would. I know someone who runs a tecamp puma 900 and with the supertwin the cab enhanced the amp no end
  6. Sad thing is, kids wouldn't say what I say, my kids despair if I try to be cool 🤓🤐
  7. Sorry, I was typing whilst eating brekkie Never basschat and eat! I have an LH1000 amp I was running through a HyDrive 410, I now run the LH1000 through the Barefaced supertwin and it has made it come alive, don't get me wrong the HyDrives sounded good, but for my ears I get a fuller sound with Barefaced especially when using a sub harmoniser I was thinking of a TX600 for weight and space etc. But if it's not quite delivering the goods and is certainly no better than the LH1000, then I am staying put. Sorry for the confusion
  8. I have a HyDrive 410 which I am selling as I just got a Barefaced supertwin and it makes the Hartke boom!!
  9. Thanks for the review, shame to see the lack of volume. I have an LH1000 and was considering a down size due to weight, but it seems not to this. I can confirm the LH1000 is very very loud and clean, but good deals are out there to save cash. I picked up one for £180 in top notch condition, always lived in a flight case
  10. Hey guys, Seen this on the interweb and can only see limited sound bites on it. There is not a lot on TB either. Anyone got any info on it? The way i see it it could well be like the TECH12 dUg Ultrabass 1000, but a fair bit cheaper. I know their pedals are of pretty good quality. Lets start the discussion! https://youtu.be/l8cK8onRmK0
  11. Think this shows my board and a bit off the side! Power source is a decibel 11 hot stone deluxe. It is a fun board!
  12. Lovely bass Out of interest what trade interests?
  13. Excellent condition in the premium natural finish and less than 2 years old, never gigged and kept safely in a case at home. Only reason for a sale is to fund another project. Quality of the bass can be seen in the photos, only thing missing is the tone pot dial of the bridge pick up, this is included, and the electronics work perfectly fine. The bass has GHS mid boomers only a couple months old for a very fat sound with the resonance the bass produces. Included are 2 sets of D'addario light gauge strings and a gig bag. Happy to post at buyers request for extra, usually about £20-30 depending on speed of delivery via parcel force and will be well wrapped.
  14. Fusion gig bags are awesome, singles and doubles, very protective, bass stays still, good pockets, made in UK and great customer service
  15. Bump - this pedal is awesome - have one myself
  16. Good man, pm me your PayPal and any other gear you have left Thanks
