1. And a track with a bit of Phil showing his magic as well as PJ
2.
Percy was one of the reasons I started playing bass and one of the reasons I bought a fretless I still reckon PJ's the best out there.
Same here on all 3 points He's the most unusual bassist i've ever heard. Ended up with 3 Brand X albums ... Unorthodox Behaviour .. Moroccan Roll ( what an album title ) .... and Masques Have some more PJ on me
3. I've wired it stewmacs way as well and still nothing.
4. I checked the output of both pups before putting them in the body, and the vol pot has been changed for known working pot, and so that leaves option 3 which is what i'll try next. After that, i'm dumping the switch and going V V T
5. The switch is one of these I even bought the above switch new from Allparts to replace the old one just in case it was duff. But this did nothing. I then changed the Vol pot just in case that was duff, but again, silence. I found an alternative wiring diagram via Duncan diagrams and tried that, but still nothing Next try will be to dump the new switch, and just wire the thing up with Vol Vol Tone and see if that cures it
6. I'm miles away from you in Oxfordshire, so you cant really take a look Not sure what you mean by whats going on with the switch terminals. The switch has 3 tags on the bottom ( the 2 outside tags have the pup hots attached ) the middle tag runs a blue wire to the left tag of the vol pot. The side of the switch is where the pup grounds are attached But i've labelled all that anyway in the photo
7. Anyone else got a ZZB ? Need photo or diagram of the circuit

Funny shape

Can anyone make out the name of this axe ? Its looks like Superfast or Superfret or derivatives of that.. Its a Telecaster shape body
10. This isnt a national security secret ...name the pub ! Then everyone can benefit from avoiding the place
11. 4 basses ( 3 fretted 1 fretless ) but only take 1 bass to gigs ...a white Retrovibe Aero 1, one of only two made, with a soapbar i fitted at the bridge.
12. Butler also used Orange amps / cabs and did so all the way through this live performance in 1970 Its more obvious from 7.00 minutes onwards
13. Thanks fella - no hurry, as its just my project bass
14. Tried to post the big original size photo but the forums wont have it
15. If this is any help ...
16. I think i may be a loser here, since Pete the Axe has not posted since October ! The Arai SB's seem to be a bit different, so it appears in my searches on the net. Would you take a detailed pic of your circuit, mr Flat ?
17. Ah, thanks. Good to know, because whenever i've bought them in the past, i've always gone for the regulated kind Is there any advantage at all in regulated supplies for pedals ?
18. Cheers flatty Eric. Yeah i remember Pete bloodaxe, we've met ! I assume that many Aria pros of the 80's with twin MBlll pups would be similar, but yes, if Pete doesnt get back to us here, i will tap you for a photo
19. Are there any owners who know the wiring circuit for the Aria Pro ZZB deluxe ? Its the 2 pup MBlll model. I bought the pair of MBll's and the circuit - blend switch, vol, tone - and although the pots and jack socket are all still wired together, the pups are not The previous owner had snipped off the pup wires, leaving stubs where they used to be, so simply re-wired them as they appeared to be. But i got nothing. The switch is a strange one. Its not 6 pole like normal blend switches, but 3 pole. And the earths appear to be on the side of the body of the switch Some advice and/or photos or diagram would be really helpful ta !
20.
I didn't like the sound much but the guy had a very hot P bass pickup in center position... don't remember the brand/model though.
You think the better option was to fit a lower out put P pup ?
21. For a pedal to only take what millamps it needs, doesnt the PS need to be the regulated kind ?
22. Why did it not make sense. Was the J tone pretty nasty @ 11k ?
23. Both good points and i'm aware of them, but those reasons are why i said i have never found a balance of volume between them. No one has wound a J that will balance out put at the bridge with a P at the neck. And i've never managed to lower a P pup far enough to lower the out put while jacking up the the J as far as possible. They still dont balance This is why I favour the amp i currently use, a Carvin BX1600. When switching from P to J, i can kick in the defeatable graphic. Problem solved
24. Entertaining chit chat from MK in his studio. The gear floating about in here is outrageous
25. Sold Jose a pedal and he paid instantly, no fuss. A great dude and good to chat to as well. Thanks Jose 10/10
