1.
Time to start chopping all that old driftwood up and forming it into a raft Hehehe
Some bass manufacturers have employed that theory My 6 string Blue Moon parlour, and as it appears there's leccy on the island, and my BM Parlour is electro, i'll take a Roland 40XL cube
 2. Yup, those Klotz LY240T cables are 11mm O/D, but the high flex model, so not stiff at all Mine isnt much good to me at the mo, as it would turn my two 8 ohm cabs into a 16 ohm load Should be easy enough to rewire the inside gubbins to parallel though

 11.
This depends on the body thickness of the bass it's being fitted to. I had to route out another 1mm or so from the bottom of the control cavity on a Squier VMJ to get the battery in. The clearances required are given in the specs so you can check before you buy if you don't have the equipment or skills to do this work should it be required.
Same here, though only took 10 mins and that included setting up the router. And after the work was done, you couldnt tell it was modified. For anyone wanting one of Johns Retro jazzers, go ahead. He's a decent fellow too and knows his stuff. Ex Sony /Oxford Digital partner
 12. I had the Squier VMJ version a few years back, and it was perfectly playable, unfortunately with a prominent dead spot, G string, 7th or 8th fret , though this could happen to many basses. I eventually changed pups for Aaaron Armstrong customs.
 13. Never really thought about this too much, although i do avoid using bell wire soldered onto two jack plugs but have never really thought buying ultra expensive guitar cables. I tend to buy cables like Fender Customs, which are nice and tweedy and well made. I dunno, maybe Fender Customs are actually high end expensive cables ? But alas, i found this article by mistake, searching for loose cable to solder up my own. Thought it may be of some interest to us all and especially the techies There's a few more links at the bottom of the page which might be just as interesting ( or not ) http://www.shootoutg...ined/myths.html
