Nux Pedals

Has anyone tried one of the Chorus pedals ? There seems to be a few options, starting with the ' CORE ' range.... the white NUX Chorus Core, then there's the yellow NUX CH-3 Vintage ( 1 less knob than the Chorus Core ) Then we have the slightly dearer, funky looking shiny metal Biyang range, with the CH-8 and CH-7 Analog Choruses , and i cant see what the difference is between them, just looking at the pics. Plus the Biyang CH-10 There's the Daphons and Joyos, but i'm not sure about those. I'm dubious about buying a Chorus pedal without user reviews, because some of them eat your low end http://www.donnerdeal.com/pedal/chorus.html
8. Thats gotta be the fastest solution to a problem ever ! Those links may well come in handy for the future too, so they've been bookmarked
9. Heaven for £22
10. Well.. no need to go hunting anymore - the king of bollocks suggestion made me go look at my knobs again. Many of them didnt fit , but i found another few buried in the clutter. Low & behold - knobbage norvegicus Thanks for all the help, bretheren. Knobless disaster averted
11.
If you click the little pdf document symbol it'll show you a spec sheet.
Thanks for that B ...didnt even realise those icons were clickable ! Yes, i can see some of those being the right type. Thx !
12.
If the rest of the shaft is 6 or 6.3mm diameter then it shouldn't matter if you put a round screw locking type on it. You can set the screw to fit against the flat edge. I'm having no end of trouble finding knobs for my amp, 4mm shafts, bloody stupid thing!
Never thought of that, bollock. Maybe one of my box of knobs will fit !
13. I had quarter pounders way back in early 2000 and struggling to remember the tone of them, but dont remember going ' wow' when hearing them in my bass for the first time, unlike these beauties
Some nice links here folks, cheers, but none seem to show you the fitting inside / underneath stating that. Maybe a phone call to them would help Thanks so far chaps, didnt know there was that many options out there. Would have been 100% easier if the NUX pedal shaft was round - damn them
They actually mention D shaft on a few of those, but only a couple have pictures underneath, and they still look round ? Possible
16.
Maplins would be a good place to start http://www.maplin.co...=knobs&x=0&y=0# Anything there take your fancy?
A brilliant selection Ooops, but they dont say what the fitting is inside ?
17. I have lost a knob, matron Its unlikely i will find a genuine NUX pedal knob in the UK but anything thats roughly the same size will do - its a half round shaft on the NUX, ( letter D shape ) Does anyone have any idea where to get something to fit ? I suppose even a guitar knob would work if it had the right shape inside, but of all the spare knobs i have at home, none have the D shape inside to fit over a D shape shaft. Oh, my kingdom for a funny shaped knob Booo !
18. I just tested my Bridge JBXN, full on volume , Neck pup turned off, and rotated the tone knob full on and rolled off, and there wasn't any hum. Preamp and Power amp wound up too, so i guess you needn't worry. I dont know much about electronics, so i dont know if the pots have anything to do with helping single coil pups to hum, but I changed the pots in mine to Bourns pots, the Rolls Royce of potentiometers, and i did that long before i fitted the Entwistle neo pups. So the Bourns pots may ( or may not ) be helping to eliminate hum, but i couldn't say. There's only the regular back shielding paint in the control cavity ( presumbaly done by the builder during construction ) but i havent added any other form of hum cancelling stuff
19. Bravo Andy - thats lovely work. I think i need to start me a piggy bank
20. Excellent - looking forward to the shots.
21. You'll be impressed with the neo Jazz bridge pup - the low mids are sublime
22. That really is nice work ! I might have to have a word in your shell like about a new tiger maple fretless fingerboard to replace the ebony ( originally fretted but now fretless with hills and valleys ) thats currently on my Peavey Also, do maple fingerboard always get the acrylic or epoxy gloss finish for the hardness factor - keeping string wear to a minimum ?
23.
The other option is to replace the tone control with a varitone switch. I recently built one into a pedal, and I like being able to 'tune' the mids with it.
Amen Anyone remember these ? Think they are proper inductor circuits that were built as drop in units for Jazzers mainly... I havent seen any on Ebay for a while ( American builder ) but i bought one a long way back, but kept it when i sold the bass. Its now been wedged into my Vintage MM Modder. They're pretty damn good and well built, and built neatly. Cant say if they were good VFM...i thought they were pricey, and the price varied between ( IIRC ) £60-ish > £85-ish. Mine is the expensive model, but i love it. Combined with the excellent Warman UK MM pup, its transformed my dull £99 bass into a classy £99 bass PS i agree with the vol drop as you click round on the 6 position switch, but i really only like the first 2 or 3 positions ( which are where the porky mids are )
