Somebody will probably know why Dae Won Musical Instruments fell on stoney ground. I might suggest that they underpriced their instruments, considering the quality of the woods / builds, but i dont know for sure. They made several model basses under the Rally brand ( built in China ) but i've never seen other models for sale apart from my model, even before Dae Won collapsed. Here's some other options - a couple of very tasty looking axes IMO

Nope, not Ian Paisley's famous blurts, but a proper Rally Basso 504 FM. Why they called a 4 string the 504 and not a 404 is a mystery, but what the hey. Probably the last brand new Rally in the UK, as the designers of the Rally range of bass /guitars / banjos etc., Dae Won Instruments of Korea, went bust a while ago. I havent seen another Rally Basso, any model not just mine, for sale anywhere. We're now talkings hens' lips rarity. There's probably a few ( or less ) used ones in private hands. I know this because i sold my last Rally ( exactly the same model as this ) 6 years ago. Oh why oh why do we get rid of them then have regrets ?? It's such a great bass, i decided to hunt down another. I found just 1. No second hand jobs for sale, just this new old stock bass on its own This was in a shop for , so the owner told me, 2.5/3 years. Perhaps he shouldnt have told me, because i smelt a deal. Surely they want shot of it after all this time. To cut the haggling story short, i got around £65 off the advertised price. It has a 2 piece mahogany body with a ( no thin veneers here, low lifers ) 15mm thick flame maple cap, hence the model name FM i presume. Maple neck with rosewood stringers and rosewood FB. So nicely put together. No sharp ends anywhere. Shallow neck , which is my thang Leccies are 9v - 1 Vol, 2 Tone, 1 Blend. Their own humbuckers too. I can only describe the tone as pokey with sparkle, but can be EQ'd for that low mid shove that i like. Balances on the strap a treat, and weighs in at 8.8 Lbs which is ok for me The horrid camera flash doesnt do it justice

Spookily, it's not Devine that was annoying. It was the other guy fizzing in his jeans whenever he spoke

That body looks well funky Hope it all works out. If the luthier is moving the bridge, then i assume he's moving that big MM humbucker and mounting it straight, unless it's a trick of the light Dont understand why you paid 45 quid for a varitone though. The NS design EUB's are very nice. I used to own the NS NXT4 and loved it. I stuck round wounds on mine. Couldnt justify hanging on to it, as it didnt fit the music i ended playing

Likelihood of neck dive on an 8lb P Bass?
fleabag replied to Mylkinut's topic in Repairs and Technical
A decent strap is a must. My beast is a 4" Italia Leather, and very expensive. There are other 4" bass straps available far cheaper. Wide straps make a bass seem light. I had a 10LB Aria Pro ll SB900 in the past, and that Italia strap made it seem way lighter. Make sure the inside of the strap is grippy. -
Rik of Kenable Ltd contacted me and advised that 1.00mm2 copper is needed, and so i ordered these in 2 x 5M lengths. They arrived and they're excellent quality. Sturdy / heavy duty but so much more flexible than the nasty stiff Yamaha supplied cables Job done

Same here ... + the Micro Thump

A template for pup routs is essential, and i suggest Simo in the Affiliates forum. He made me a beautiful sturdy perspex template. Just give him accurate dimensions. I used digital calipers

I have that very tool.

I likes me a bit of Kenny Wayne Shephard He released Ledbetter Heights when was 18. Blimey - i'd only just finished climbing trees.

Or a box of spare F holes

I like people who try to think in curved lines. Couldn't live with a 12lb bass let alone guitar, but i loved the idea. His guitar made out of newspapers is just as entertaining, and a little bit lighter They both sound great IMO

Great Kenable cables checkout didnt work, a couple of other cable sellers sites wouldnt open, and a fruitless search for anyone else selling flexible IEC ( C13 ) 5 metre mains leads. Apparently, the word flexible isnt something thats a concern for advertisers.
