I know there is no point me moaning, but I think paying VAT on a product that has already attracted VAT is just insane.
Legal Gov. backed robbery. Its been going on for a fair few decades now, and not just here in the UK Think about the taxes paid when you buy a bass from the USA. They add the VAT on the cost of shipping too ! That isnt " value added tax " If you paid £300 for the bass before shipping then the value of the bass is £300, not £400 because the shipping cost £100 on top Hows about that for legal robbery right in front of your face and in daylight ?

If anyone doesnt like capitalism rearing its ugly head, it might better to move to a socialist state somewhere Why anyone gets suprised anymore about profit being made at all by anyone, in any sector , anywhere, IS actually surprising Yes, its ugly, but thats the way the world works. Its not milk and honey. Better to get over it / join in / etc

Its good for your CV !! Back in the 80's, the band i was in got to play on the Tommy Vance Friday Night Rock Show on the Beeb, but it led to nothing -
Who pays for rehearsal room if 1 person drops out?
fleabag replied to solo4652's topic in General Discussion
We've had occasions , just like all other bands, where someone cannot rehearse, but we're in the fortunate position of being able to rehearse in our rhyth git's back room, where the PA , all amps, and a drumkit are permanently set up. Having said that, we've tried reheasring without one of the guys there, and its quite hard work. Its those times when you suddenly realise that you take cues from everyone else, especially the drummer, in our case. Rehearsals without the singer are just as awkward, for us anyway, and same goes for the both guitarists. The only person the band can rehearse without and still get a somewhat decent practice in, is me -
No they're not, as far as i know. I do believe that Alan of ACG used to fit them to his basses at one point.

Another pro vote I changed out the standard soapbars in my ESP LTD fretless for Barts soapbars ( classics ) and its transformed the sound. There's no lack of top end on these, if needed. Its just not harsh, and thats a good thing. But beef on low / low- mid is where i roll anyway, and these have it in spades Then again, its highly possible to make any top end sound harsh, with the right electronics and amp settings.

SIT Silencers are quite magical. I've used them on Fretted & Fretless both They dont sound much like the dull ' dompf ' of a regular old school flat. Quite punchy in fact but they're amazingly easy under the fingers http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/SIT_strings.html
I only really know his playing from Bandstand by Family - one of my favourite albums.
He was on Fearless, as well as Bandstand. Just the 2 albums unfortunately. Ric Grech and John Weider played on the other albums But this is one of the all time tone monster / creative bass lines from Wetton ... what a peach and my fave bass line of all time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1XKdXXZjDc And if anyone has forgotten what JW used to look like back in the day..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AEFJmhigdI

Due to sheer unadulterated laziness, i've abandoned this project. I have the attention span of a 5 year old, and i'm now playing with other stuff This was a Peavey Sarzo flagship bass in 1989, flame maple neck through, ash wings. Walnut ( i think ) stringers. It was stained red but i stripped it off to show the body wood It has the original Peavey gold tuners It has the original Schaller roller 3 way gold adjustable bridge and new, these are £129 by themselves http://www.allparts....ridge-w-rollers - its the GOLD version Part no: BB-0318-002 0 in stock £129.50 inc VAT I had a luthier ( Thomas Handley ) fit a flame maple fretless board to match the body and he also made the truss rod cover in flame maple. Its been routed for different pickups over the years The electrics are ok as far as i know. It has a battery box but i wired this as Vol Vol Tone and have placed a block of wood over the remaining pot holes This is probably a bass that someone would want to see in person ( West Oxfordshire ) but if you fancy the project, please arrange your own courier to collect from me by arrangement. I can pack it fine and print labels BACS /Online transfer or cash on collection - dont trust Paypal !

This 2x12 is for sale because i've moved over to a pair of MB NY 604 cabs, being a lover of Markbass. Its pristine, and owned by me since new. I've priced it to sell, rather than haggle, as they're £560 new + shipping and this cab is basically still new I'd rather collection in person from West Oxfordshire, but this leaves a lot of potential buyers out of the equation, so i'm happy to box it and post it if anyone wants to arrange their own courier to collect from me by arrangement. This ensures that you only pay the minimum shipping cost, as you choose the courier and method I can print labels Payment by BACS / online transfer. I dont trust Paypal !

Scum sucking bottom feeders are everywhere, and Gumtree is just another area they permeate. They will do anything rather than earn their own way in life. They'd rather just rip it out of someone else.. easy money. They must send millions of these every year, and if 1% get suckered in, they make a fortune Sadly, we can't eradicate gullibility, and so there will always be ' customers ' who fall prey.
