Some nice looking bows there, if I had got into bowing earlier in life I think bows would have been "my thing", I just like looking at and holding them!

Normal length strings will be fine, as for the mutes, wind the thumb turns out until the foam dampens the string, cut the treble totally, boost the bass fully and play finger style near the fingerboard, amp on full and new underpants at the ready!

I like a higher action on them, gives a more DBesque thump imo, if you want it like a bass guitar I think most uprights will rattle and growl.

[/quote] I don't see the need for the comparison, some people believe it or not enjoy their cars and have a social life based around them, that same person that can't play bass probably doesn't want a room full of devaluing bass gear. As long as you are both happy and you didn't pay for each others purchases I don't see why it matters tbh.

Unless they are micd cabs and you are at the front it matters not a jot what badges they have on them does it? Could be wooly as hell but with the desk sending the highs to the monitors and foh. I see this regarding artists that use un micd cabs and in ears,they could use a 10 watt guitar amp with a split speaker cone and the sound would be identical out front!

I was getting petrol and Jim lea was in the petrol station, if I asked everyone at work if they knew who he is I doubt anyone would know.

16 here, yep its great, 4 individual monitor mixes, 31 band eq on both FOH and the monitor sends, fx sounds really natural, gated kick drum, etc etc etc.

You can play more than one instrument to a high standard you know.
