Nice job on the Muff, Protium. Good quality jacks, and an isolated PSU socket too - just what the doctor ordered. The original wiring loom on these is held together with cake, it amazes me that some folks will do the true bypass mods and all sorts of other mods, but leave that awful gossamer-thin cable intact.
Thanks and agreed - terrific pedals but horrible wiring
3. Just spied these in the for-sale sections, maybe worth a look? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/200358-schaller-m4-22-machine-heads/
4. Have you got a pic of the tort plate? And do you know if it will fit a MIM Precision (13 screwholes)?
5. That finish is horrible, even by sunburst standards
6. The Warwick ones look the same as the Gotoh GB7, which are excellent
7. If you're not fussed about the weight I'd recommend an Eminence Beta 10, cost around £45 Personally I'd be tempted to remove the 10" enclosure, scrap the crossover and run both speakers full-range
Looks great, did you finIsh the enclosure yourself? If not, where are you sourcing painted enclosures? Cheers Any soundclips? Si
Yeah, it's a hammond box, few coats of white primer, smoothed and finished in car touch-up spray paint. I'll get some clips at some point
9.
"Ruthenium is a chemical element with symbol Ru and atomic number 44. It is a rare transition metal belonging to the platinum group of the periodic table." A bit exotic for a knob!
Yup, they are an anthracite sort of colour and mega expensive

New pedal just about finished - Green Big Muff I sourced some NOS Russian transistors for this (same as those used in the original pedals) to give it that authentic vibe... Sounds awesome on bass
12. Sent some pickup foam to Martin, nice guy to deal with, cheers!
13. Sent some pickup foam to Milty, nice guy to deal with, cheers!
14. Sold some pickup foam to Ian, nice guy, cheers!
15.
Sound. Might look into that. The guitarist is fairly handy with a soldering iron.
If you decide to do that I can send you a socket for free - Years ago I ordered a 100 pack from China but they messed up and sent me 1000 instead
16. I modified mine to have a standard Boss socket on it, but just wanted to be 100% sure!
17. Just checked and my black Russian is negative ground, your battery clip adaptor should work with the pedal
18. IIRC you run into problems mixing + and - ground pedals on the same supply Which brick do you have? All the Dunlops I've seen are centre negative
19. A 100W gun is overkill, 25-35W iron is all you need. You might be best to simply cut the wires from the existing electronics as they'll need restripping anyway. That way no damage, and you can clean them up off the bass if you ever need to refit them
20. 1210L aka "the compact killer"
21. Yamaha rbx170, the E string tuning peg disintegrated internally so it ended up a 3-string shortly before ending up as parts.
