2.
Disco Inferno was definately played by Ronnie Baker of the Trammps. He died some years ago.
Yep sure was... But the poster was talking about the gig last Saturday night. And that was Steve Pearce. Garry
 3.
I don't know if this is the right place to post this question but I watched a TV show on the BBC last saturday night when I came home from a gig. It was around midnight and it featured some artists unknown to me here in Belgium but they did songs from Saturday Night Fever with a big orchestra. Guests I did know were Robin Gibb and Sharleen Spiteri. The band was superb and they showed how complex the arrangements of these popsongs were.. Does anyone know who the bassplayer was...already in his 40ties (fifties ?) but he played really well on a red Fender Precision. The bass-sound he had on "Jive Talkin'" was mindblowing and was the best "synth"bass-sound I have heard on an electric bass. I heard a really good version of "Disco Inferno" by an unknown singer (Christopher ?) but in fact everyone was good...Pity it was interrupted by Razorlight... So if anyone knows who the bassplayer was ?
Steve Pearce http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendID=66568208 Top player. It really amazes me that he does not seem to get much of a mention on this forum. Garry
 4.
Absolutely +1. Like what was said in a previous post, we had no idea what we tunes were going to play until we turned up at Church, the Pastor would give us a list and off we'd go. As I don't read music at all, not even chord charts it pushed me to a whole new level of bass playing. Luckily I have an excellent musical ear and can pick things up very quickly. The Church has full P.A. mixing desk etc so the sound is very good.
Believe it or not, this is not unique to Church Musicians.. I have managed to reach heights at times i never thought i had in me. This was due to playing with musicians who were also reaching heights. [ and maybe a higher standard than me - who knows ] And i could not tell you if they believed in God or not.Or if it really mattered at the time. As a Musician you should strive to reach great heights all the time. And IMO the only faith or belief you need for that, is really within yourself. Off course A Church Musician will tell you another story.... Garry
 5.
As an aside, the irony of your member number made me chuckle a little
Could he be a closet Blues Musician..? "Cross Road Blues" is one of Delta Blues singer Robert Johnson's most famous songs. The lyrics plainly have the narrator attempting to hitch a ride from an intersection as darkness falls. But in close association with the mythic legend of Johnson's short life and death, it has come to represent the tale of a blues man going to a metaphorical crossroads to meet the devil to sell his soul in exchange for becoming a famous blues player. 9.
Whereas Flea's, Zender's and Jamerson's lines made the songs, Entwhistle's detracted from them, Great technician but not a great musician... C
His musicianship on 'who's Next' was behond the call of duty [IMHO] I used to think the same. But the more i listen to 'The making of Who's next' He pinned it all together. Garry
