Never in all my days did I think I'd see people arguing about Tokai.

So, anybody into stuff that doesn't use bass? Recently I've been going through a Synthwave bent, mainly because it reminds me of old 80s scifi movies.

Hype or not, I'm planning to get one, made to my own specs. Probably with a Delano hybrid humbucker in the bridge and a haussel P in the neck. I might see if it's possible to blag some kind of Jazz bar further up as well (3 pickups might not be feasible due to placement or electronics - dunno - I'm not an expert on this stuff)

I can't read this thread, I can't get the screen far enough away from my eyes and I refuse to buy reading glasses.

Quite a difference! For me it's Ceramic > Classic > 3Band

As others have said, there are things that are beautiful but not cool. "Coffee table" wood facings on your bass is one. But things like singlecut horns that go up to the 12th fret, I don't get it, but if I'm beating the crap out of the 14th fret E on the D string sometimes I want to grip it, thumb over board like I'm wielding a bat. Dual headed fretless/fretted, not cool. But at the end of the day, cool is what you do with it. If you sit there gently playing Barry Manilow stuff then automatically nothing you're doing is cool.

Looks incredible. I have to ask though, has anyone done the Red Dwarf, "Your guitar is made from camphor wood?" joke yet?

Yeah, there's a reason drummers are in like 10 bands each. Bin the singer off. Or both quit and start a new band.

Yeah so no. Ignore that part of what I said, I'm a curmudgeonly bastard and assume if something is great now, it won't be in 10 years.

Read what I put after. i haven't heard anything, I'm just looking at what happens historically with really good bass manufacturers. I have NO INTEREST in starting a rumour AT ALL.
