  1. Squier PJ Special standard. I'll try to take a pic of the wiring later after work.
  2. Yes the tone control works fine, as I said, Tone full up both volume pots work as they should, Tone off Both volume pots only work for the last 10% of their travel... Weird.
  3. No one know what's whats wrong here?
  4. Just cleaned the pots and found that If I turn the tone pot full up the volumes work normal on both pickups ! When I turn the tone full off there's no volume until the very last bit of the turn!! Anyone know what's going on here?
  5. Folks, both my volume pots on my PJ only work when they're full on, are they worn out and if so what pots do i buy to replace them? Cheers for any help.
  6. Does anyone know If a standard fender scratchplate will fit this bass? 14 screw holes? Cheers.

  9. I think the nut is its original position, From these pics I've found of an Identical bass It looks like there's a piece of wood missing from behind the nut. http://www.gitarion.pl/galeria/basowe/hohner_p-bass_copy/hohner_p-bass_copy.html# There does seem to be some old glue where that piece of wood would have been.
  10. Anyone know If a standard fender p bass scratchplate will fit this? Cheers
  11. I thought the nut looked wrong but I've checked the intonation and It's spot on! I like the sound of the Pick ups so will keep It. I gotta change the rubber underneath them as It's perished and the pick up Is not seating straight. The control knobs are made of some 70's plastic so may change them to chrome ones. Took the neck off to check truss rod which works OK, and It has a block built body. Can't moan for £50 😂
  12. Ta mate. It really plays well, great action. Gonna redo all the electrics, have some aged scratchplate screws coming and gonna stick an ashtray over the bridge. It's In fantastic shape for a bass of this age. Pickup rubbers have perished so needs some work there. I'm over the moon with It! Thanks for the Info.
  13. Just bought this for £50 Made In Japan Hohner P bass, all original apart from the screws on the scratchplate! Any Info On these chaps? Really plays well!

  15. Here's where I'm up to. Reshaped Headstock, decal added, tinted neck, sprayed scratchplate cream. Just a bridge ashtray and then I'll decide if I wanna smash the body up a bit! It's been fun.
  16. Looks very well done mate, I'm In the same boat as you, gonna do the neck sometime this week but really thinking about a body colour change too. I'll see what It looks like when I've done the neck.
  17. Love that colour mate, what sort of prep did you have to do to the body before spraying? Did you clear coat it? I have the red one and would love to do It that colour. Great job.
  18. Gonna spray the neck this week with amber nitro, Just wondering If I'll need clear coat on top? If not how long will just the amber tint last? Will I need to do any sanding? Never done any spraying before so any help would be great. Got no Idea about sanding or buffing (If using a clear coat) Cheers all Geoff
  19. Anyone else with the roswell pickup noticed that the E and A strings are not sitting over the pickup magnet poles? Don't look like a bridge problem, More like the pickup seems a tad small.
  20. Flats went on it on day one, Just some old cheap ones I had laying around. Gonna get a set of decent ones soon!
  21. Which pickups mate? Don't wanna throw a fortune at It but may replace It.
