  1. Only £96 Unbelievable for the price IMO.
  2. New Tuners, Spray scratchplate aged cream, Ashtray for bridge and still debating the relic look!
  3. Headstock reshaped. Amber tint and some kind of decal next.
  4. Gonna mod the new PB 50 I got last week. Will post progress. Here It Is new.
  5. Just stuck In a foam mute at the back and Bam! FAT funky motown thud! I think I'll call It 'The Jamerson'. 😎
  6. Arrived Monday but only got a chance to upack today. 1st thing... How the F**ck do they make these for so little money? Some things other people thinking of buying may want to know: No hole under the scratchplate like some others have reported. Can use without plate now. Bridge has changed from the large bulky one to one with Fender dimensions and screw placement. Volume and tone pots work as they should do. Gave It a quick set up and It plays superbly, love the tone with my old flats on too! Mods I'm gonna do: New tuners. (anyone know what are direct replacements?) Amber tint the neck with Nitro. Reshape the headstock. Add own decal. Repaint scratch plate aged cream. Must say I am blown away at the price. Cheers Geoff.

  9. Came out of my CV jazz as I wanted It kept standard. Bank transfer only. £50 Inc postage to UK only.
  10. For years (many years) I've used alternate fingering when ascending and raking when descending, after watching an Ariane Capp video on right hand technique seems I should have alternate fingering when descending also! After practising this for a few days I've noticed that using alternate fingering going both up and down makes for a more even smoother run than raking. However, It's driving me mental!!!!! Anyone have any good exercises to get this down In my playing? So far I'm just going up and down scales in circles of 4ths but anyone have anything that will speed up the process or is it as always Is. Keep practicing until It's second nature? Cheers.

  12. Problem solved! Digging around In me box of bits I found an Entwistle JBXN bridge pickup I bought for a project PJ I never got around to using, Banged It In and Instant honk!
  13. Tried different pickup heights, still the same.
  14. I've got Wizard 84's In my CV jazz and to my ears they're a bit too mellow sounding, not getting that 'Honk' from the bridge with neck just rolled off as much as I'd like so thinking of going down the Custom shop 60's route. Is there much difference between the 84's and the custom shops? I really like that nasally sound from the bridge and I'm not really hearing It from the 84's Anyone had both? Any help appreciated!

  17. It's cool, I asked firstly because I couldn't find any info on the FSR bass and because of Bigmuffs patronising 'Anything Else' statement.
  18. So what are the specs for this bass, can't find any detailed Info on the FSR range. Body wood, pickups etc
  19. Looks like your bass Is this one: http://shop.fender.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-Fender-JP-Site/ja_JP/Product-Variation?pid=product-525160&dwvar_product-525160_var-color=Fiesta%20Red&dwvar_product-525160_var-fingerboard-material=Rosewood £550 new, basswood body. Last of the Jap Fender range from what I've seen on the net. made in January 2015 according to serial number. JD means either Japanese Deluxe or more likely J for Japan and the D is the factory It was made at. Nice looking bass.
  20. It's the basswood body with Jap pickups. 1997-2000 any idea what a good price to pay Is? Few chips and scratches on it.

  22. I bought a MIM Classic 70's Jazz from Mike on here and It's the best Jazz I've owned and knocks spots off my 80's USA jazz deluxe. Paid £450 for It and It has a baddass 2 bridge. I've just had the frets levelled and crowned now the action is just superb, outrageously low with no buzz or dead notes anywhere. Great punchy sound from the stock pick ups too. 3 piece alder body but you'd be hard pressed to see the joins, I can't! I'd thoroughly recommend them but you may need to get a little work done to get it to feel right. Then again if you get it for £400/£450 a few quid on a set up is well worth it to have a great bass for little money compared to USA jazzes.
