These look amazing! Please let us know how you get on when paired up with the 500 combo
11. After reading this thread, I'm seriously considering changing my MarkBass combo for one of these. I've never really been happy with the tone. These things really seem to fit the vintage / old school vibe I'm after! They seem really good value too ...
12. Lakland 55-02 (Skyline) NOW SOLD (not on this forum ) is my lovely Lakland 55-02 in 3TS with rosewood fretboard.
13.
I'll bring this up in your next NBD thread. Very nice bass, by the way.
Ha ha I bet you will !! (maybe I'll edit that bit out!) ... thanks mate
14. NBD - Fender Road Worn Jazz bass in Fiesta Red I have to say, I am a very lucky man ... So after my P bass joy from Sunday, yesterday this arrived from the very nice Basschatter WAYNESWORLD (Cheers Wayne!). I’ve not had chance to plug it in yet, but it’s got a lovely fast neck and it really resonates too. I think new strings and a bit of a tweak will be needed … but first impressions are it’s a keeper. I’m trying to keep things as simple as possible and they both have the sound I’ve had in my head for years too. I am now officially done shopping for basses - I feel I have the ultimate two basses that anyone would ever need. (My Lakland will be up for sale soon I reckon ...) If any of you see me in the Basses for Sale section again, you have my permission to tell me off!! . And now a couple of pictures …
15. And it's my great pleasure to continue this feedback thread for Wayne! I've just bought a Road Worn Jazz bass from Wayne (don't worry mate, it's gone to a good home!). Absolutely brilliant communications throughout the transaction and also amazingly sturdy packaging Lovely bloke, top basschatter and a pleasure to deal with - highly recommended.
16. Ha ha sorry mate! There are a few slight chips on the varnish, which I didn't notice at first and never noticed when I played it. They seem to have "worn" the neck slightly round the first 5 frets too (like the Limelight basses) ... As always, best thing is to try one, if you can ...
17. NBD - Fender Road Worn Precision bass Well, here she is, bought yesterday from wibbler21 (cheers mate!). I’ve been hankering after one of these for a while now, ever since I stupidly sold my Classic ’50’s p bass (I knew it was a mistake!). The thing I really love about this bass is the fact that it feels really ‘played in’, the rolled edge neck is amazing. I was lucky enough to have band practice yesterday afternoon too, so it was straight to the front line! The guys thought it had a really smooth tone, it fitted right in to our mix. I may change the strings to flat wounds soon coz I love a p bass with flats, they sound epic … FWIW, you either like the road worn look or you don’t - it’s just one of those things. I like the fact that it doesn’t bother me if it gets bashed about a bit. It certainly has a bit of ‘mojo’ to my eyes … Anyway, enough of my yakkin’ … here’s some pictures …
18. Bought Brian's Road Worn Precision bass - nice transaction, good communications and a pleasure to deal with. I echo what Karl says above - deal with confidence guys! Cheers Nick
