We are a 3 piece but could do with another rhythm or lead guitar. We are ages 35-45 and are playing tracks from Nirvana, AIC, Soundgarden, Metallica, QOTSA, Pearl Jam, Audioslave, RATM etc. Currently rehearsing weekly in Watford. Thanks

Watford Valves or Laney HQ near B'ham

I had one of these....tragically sold it to fund something or other that i no longer have. Big mistake. If the LED's are red, it could mean a biaing issue on those tubes. You could have a go yourself, but its quite a complicated beast once opened up. Oh, there are no authorised service centres for these. You send it straight to Laney and they sort it. They arrange postage or you can drop it off all for a VERY reasonable price. And they are sound guys over there to boot, sorted me out with some extra bits etc all for free. Like the idea of them "going home" to get sorted!

If need be. Although I have a small soft padded case which it sits in and is quite protected. I can always find a place to perch it or tuck it away.

I also run a TC BH550 and Zoom. Why consider a DI box when you can use your head as a DI? TC BH Heads don't need speakers connected to operate. What I have recently added is in ears and all it means is that I use the TC head effectively as a DI box (small, light, sounds good!) I keep my cabs as spare and use where necessary. Outlay wasn't massive as we are using wired in ear options rather than wireless. So Behringer P1, some cables and some decent quality in-ears. You already have a mixer, so job done.

That's a cracking idea EBS! Seems a much more "on the fly" type solution but nice and simple. -

In my VERY ltd experience, you can only hear (through the monitors) instruments are coming through a common mixing desk...so yes. Although we didn't have the drums miked, but that didn't matter in a smallish rehearsal room! -

Loads of options out there. Schecter Model T or this from ESP -
Hello, New band seeks a relatively good, like minded drummer to play covers to start with and perhaps moving on to original material if things work out that way. Currently we are an experienced bassist and guitarist/vocalist both in our 40's looking to re-visit the glory days of 90's grunge and metal scene. We already have a relatively decent set list ranging from stuff from Alice in Chains, QOTSA, Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, Pantera, L7, Nirvana, RHCP, TAD and Soundgarden but also open to some more funky stuff like Stevie Wonder, Living Colour and Hendrix. We are just doing some jamming to start with but if we progress fast enough, we will be looking for the occasional gig. Generally rehearsals are during the week and we'll be looking for someone who is flexible on travel. Drop me a line if you think you'd be interested! Thanks

Laney nexus tube bass head and Laney nx810 cab

Spot on Bigwan...4 ohms each 2 in parallel and then pairs in series. Not available anymore? Not so sure about that
-
I'd reccomend Hartke Hydirves all the way. The flexibility of switching between 4 or 8 ohm's means options from running 1 all the way up to 4. Plus they sound pretty good. Here's mine!

Seems Fender may have been keeping an eye on Schecter with the new parrallel universe model!
