  1. Not sure anyone has said anything negative about Blacksmiths. I believe most people who have had one think they are epic. The question is though, do you need that much power? They are also on the larger side size wise. personally I’d have one in a flash just to say I owned a squillion watt amp!
  2. I was in contact with them on Instagram while they were posting about NAMM. Someone mentioned that they had an issue and Hartke responded to contact Hal Leonard. I messaged to inform them about how Hal Leonard were awful and they got back to me asking for details. I pointed them in the direction of some posts on Basschat. Hopefully they had a look, who knows!
  3. Shape wise they are identical but the different fretboard woods do make them feel slightly different. Probably just psychological due to the different look!
  4. So, many years back I was after an active PJ workhorse and was looking not to spend a massive fortune. I was also keen to try something other than the usual Fender. I quite liked the look of the ESP Ltd Frank Bello model but couldn’t get on with the painted neck. I then noticed in my searching the Ltd Pancho Tommaselli model. It was similar to the Frank Bello only not a PJ just a simple J. I took a risk and imported one from the States (really hard to source in UK), I fell in love with it and it’s been my main bass ever since. Fast forward a few years and I was still after a PJ active and sure enough ESP launched a new Pancho Tommaselli model in PJ format with a J body and neck. Also had the most incredible aqua/black colouring. I searched everywhere and could not find any available.A couple came up in the states but with the pound been weaker and import duty it pushed the price well over my 1300 pound-ish limit I was prepare to pay. Ultimately I couldn’t find one so opted for. Schecter Model-T, which is great too. they then discontinued the model, so I figured that was that. so, on Thursday I was doing some random searching re pre-amps and one only went and popped up at Guitar Guitar! Ex demo and a small laquer crack meant a massive discount. I chatted to them and they knocked a further 50 quid off. Plunge taken and arrived Friday. Other than the crack, it’s minty! Swamp Ash body, Ebony fingerboard, Aguilar pickups and pre-amp. Babics Bridge and Gotoh tuners. Such an amazing colour, hard to capture on phone camera. Here she is alongside the fist one....
  5. Hi All, I'm after some advice please. I noticed that one of my basses doesn't have any copper shielding in the cavity. I have never had any issues with interference or noise (I suspect that's down to the EMG electronics) So my question is, should I still consider shielding and if so, whats the best way to go about doing it? Thanks
  6. Feel this thread is a bit of a shame. Seems a previously respected brand slowly being eroded with bad service and declining quality. As soon as something like this pops up on a respected forum, that's really it for reputation, like forever! Personally I have 4 Hartke cabs with the weird half metal speakers. I really rate them (had no issues whatsoever) and they sound pretty epic with your amps @Ashdown 😂
  7. Transmitter has a pretty sturdy wire clip which seems to hold quite nicely on the strap or on your belt. Personally I would consider a holster more for protection of the unit or if you are really energetic on stage as it may not hold if you really bounce about!
  8. My G75 arrived from Andertons yesterday! Lovely bit of kit.
  9. Just saw this one the G4 Music sale site https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Luna-Tattoo-Electric-Bass-34-Scale-Satin-Natural/2KF2 Barring the naff "tattoo" seems a nice starter for upgrades. Anyone try one?
  10. Hi Stew Resurrecting this as I have a question. How does the G75 work with a front end multi-fx? Something like a Zoom or Helix? Thanks
  11. Ltd's come in many different spec levels. The top ones are priced between £900-£1200 and in my experience are better equipped than Squires and are usually lovely players. I'm surprised this one has this issue being one at the higher end. I would definitely see what ESP have to say
  12. Hi Again A couple of things to try. I know it may seem odd, but have you got the volume on your phone turned up high? Make sure you keep the phone speaker right up against the pick up that you have the volume up on. Also, have you got the most up to date App? The most up to date app seems to be working fine and the beaming stops after the package is delivered. You can also skip the beaming wizard which saves time. Hope you get it sorted!
  13. Hi all. Due to acquiring a new Ashdown, I need to shift this on. 3 amps is too many! I have owned this from new and have been really impressed. Lots of power and with the right set up can drive 1-4 cabs easily. TonePrints are useful but I’ve found that this is a great amp for pedals. Including a switch 3 pedal and also a TC bag for carrying (both around £40 new). Pedal and bag are mint. Amp is in very good condition with some minor scuffs on top (see photos). I’ll include the cable for the footswitch. Price is £235 onco. plus postage. Pickup is fine. Grab a bargain for a lovely amp! Cheers
  14. Quick run through last night. Nice bottom end indeed. Quick question on the valve drive though, how sensitive are they? Cranked mine right up and and best its more like a boost rather than an out and out drive? That the same on all yours?
  15. Woohoo, it’s here! Looks good, firing up for rehearsals tonight. quick question though, all my amps have only ever had one speakon output. This has two! So 1 4ohm cab off each output is fine yes? Or do I just take one and daisy chain the cabs at 8ohm? thanks!
  16. So loving the CTM 30, decided to take the plunge on an ABM 600 Evo IV. Hoping it will become my main gig amp. Photos and sales of other gear to follow!
  17. Chap is keeping it. Had a PM convo with him about it last week
