  1. Bartolini has been making Quad Coil (4 coils if you prefer) pickups in a few different formats including MM for decades... And the Lakland is using one as stated here in their presentation: https://www.lakland.com/product/usa-series-55-94/ Fact is it's indeed a long boring useless video for sure and the guy on the right is not 100% clean. That said, the Andertons videos are as useless especially when Nathan starts turning all the knobs of what they are testing just to make sure they ... turn (I have no other explanation 🤦🏻‍♂️ ), but he and Lee are both excellent players, which makes a difference.
  2. I had a few Bongo's, but even if they sound quite good, but not terrific (I'm addicted to luthiers basses), to me, the Bongo even looks uglier in the flesh... 🤢
  3. And the chassis is from the TC Electronic RH series. 😉
  4. @40hz your analysis is perfect, and you're right, as others mentioned too, the more than ugly bad taste Ernie Ball (MusicMan) Bongo really represents the 2000's. It appeared almost like a joke in 2003 and is still there (almost) 20 years later, when everybody was persuaded it wouldn't last a year... So, designing a bass looking like a toilet seat is the way to relaunch the sales: it says a lot about how the bass is perceived worldwide! 🤦🏻‍♂️
  5. Nice cat and bass too. That said the letter represents the nut width, not the profile: A = 1 1/2" (38,1 mm aka 38 mm) wide at the nut. B = 1 5/8" (41,275 mm aka 42 mm) wide at the nut. C = 1 3/4" (44,45 mm aka 44 mm) wide at the nut. D = 1 7/8" (47,625 mm aka 48 mm) wide at the nut. Most of the P-Basses have a B nut, when Jazz Basses have an A nut. That said, I found my long gone 1964 P-Bass with a D nut the most comfortable neck ever...
  6. The Ibanez SR series aka Soundgear started in 1987 with the superb SR 1000 CT1 (I sold mine to a friend a few months ago), so definitely not the iconic bass of the 2000's.
  7. Looks really interesting!
  8. I use this to power 9 Volts item and it really lasts around 5 hours. It's almost the only powerful 9 Volts power bank I found a few years ago... It also integrates a torch lamp, which is very useful, has 2 x 9Volts sockets and a "power left" display. https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_powerplant_powerbank.htm
  9. The TrickFish is bigger. 🤔🤣
  10. Welcome to the club @Billy Bongo and I'm only 57 years old. Honestly I really don't understand this revival for the crap of the 60's and 70's that were called basses back in the day and which were only firewood... 😉
  11. I love ToneRider, as good if not better than boutique pickups without robbing the bank.
  12. According to your budget go the Ibanez road (lane?) @Billy Bongo and as @itu wrote if the instruments doesn't talk to you, try another one. 😉
  13. Hey Flavius, I indeed used this TRB-6P model to craft my own signature bass and also played it a lot before I got my personal bass from Yamaha, simply called JP. It's a fantastic bass and one of the best sixer around (this and the JP's too of course). Take care, John.
  14. By the way, congratulations for your new job ! 👏👍👌
  15. Let's say Uli Behringer's Watts (Bugera belongs to him too) are just a tad bit ambitious: remove a zero at the end and you have something more realistic, which, by the way, also had very optimistic wattage for those who remember the good ol' days.
  16. Is it possible to go through the chimney without becoming all black?* *Belgian surrealistic joke.
  17. Funny that nobody seems to read what others have written...
  18. First series only had the zero at the end, then they slowly started to stamp the year at end.
  19. If you front the rear with back at the front left and mix them using the lateral switch towards the back does it pick up the strings well?
  20. The Jazz Bass pickup is from 1970 and the Precision Bass pickup from 1981 for one half and 1976 for the other. Both are official Fender pickups.
  21. Urm, urm:
  22. Why is it still there? 🤔
  23. Worth checking this thread too:
  24. I was indeed mine, bought new, @Smanth, and I truly think that @DanOwens and I are really taking great care of our amps, instruments and everything. It's simply called respect. Hope you'll enjoy this wonderful little box as much as I did. Take care. Cheers, Tony.
