2.
Here's one from almost exactly 20 years ago.... the singer never liked this shot cos the guy on the roof looked more interesting!
I'm pretty sure the bass cab I use in our practice room has a psycho surgeons stencil on it. Small world.
 3. Come on, back up you go, go play with the other Stingrays in the Forum. Good boy...
 4. Really regret that one...
Beautiful colour, I love the pearloid guards! Regrets, we've had a few.....
 5.
Haha. Really wish I could mate. I already have a Stingray exactly the same spec as yours just in Trans Orange with a Nordie 4.2 in it, and it doesn't get used much. I just love the the Trans Teal!
I love the trans finishes. Jobiebass had a Trans red one up for sale a year or so ago and I passed up on it. Really regretting it now! Got any pics of yours about? On the MM SR porn thread?
 6.
Me too. If it is, I might be able to scrape the cash together.
The bin's yours And the pants if you like
 7. SOLD SOLD SOLD For sale is a 1996 3EQ Musicman Stingray in Trans Teal with a white scratchplate and maple neck, serial number B04108 (out of the factory on October 16th, 1996). I changed the scratchplate from the original black one and am happy to change it back if preferred. I've had this for about a year, I bought it on eBay and it's been great. The reason I'm selling it is that I just bought a red one and can't really afford to keep this one anymore. The body is ash which makes it really lightweight and the trans finish shows the grain of the wood really nicely. It's in great condition, there are a couple of barely noticeable scratches on the back (poss buckle-rash, and not mine) which I've tried to show in the photos and a small black mark on the edge of the headstock. I would like £700 for this and would prefer cash on collection from Shipley in West Yorkshire, although if you'd like to have it delivered to the UK I can arrange for a courier at the purchasers expense (I should imagine it would be about £20). Included in this is a Bass Centre hard case (shown in the photos). I'm happy for you to come and inspect it and/or have a go on it. If you have any questions please let me know. 9.
many years ago i was watching another band set up to suddenly see the bass player on his back with one hand on his bass, and one on a mike stand and he was in a bad way. no one in his band knew what to do, one bloke nearly grabbed the mike stand but I knew where the mains was and unplugged it. It doesnt take much to get electrocuted, and if you have a problem, you will have to rely on other people to sort your problem out very quickly.
SOmething similar happened to one of the BC members and he told us about it here. It led to a rush on circuit breakers (me included!) I can't remember the chap's name I'm afraid.

 11.
Hi, Purchased in October 2008 and now not used since I use my Sterling all the time. Used for jamming at my house only so it's in as new immaculate condition. Comes with the original case which is in the same condition. I think you can get yourself a new one for about for about £1299. Mine cost me £1099 in 2008. I'd like to get back £900 and you can get what is essentially a new one. Let me know if thats of interest. I'm in North East Hampshire and it would need to be picked up. Cheers, Ian.
I'm on the lookout for something just like this. A bit beyond my budget though. Beautiful bass, good luck with the sale!

 14.
Ive given this some thought and Ive just started writing stuff with a mate. Ive been thinking an easy way into this kinda thing is grab 3/4/5 (delete as necessary). some paint and get creating. Keep them individual but same/similar colours. You should be able to tell pretty quick then that were as a group!
I've always liked the idea of using colours. Some interesting reading here about it too: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=54569&hl=

 19. I think that it's a great idea to try and warn your fellow basschatters about the good and bad venues around but a couple of issues sprung to mind for me. Might this give rise to us being accused of libel? As I understand it, basschat is indexed by search engines (for the public forums anyway) and there was a case a little while ago whereby if someone searched google for one of the big bass shops (can't remember which one), then in the top few results, one of them was a link to a thread on Basschat saying how rubbish said shop was! Much as I like the feeling of power, if the thread says something that could be construed as libel then will the author be liable? Basschat's owners? I'm not smart enough to know if this is the case or not, perhaps some more intelligent folk could weigh in. What constitutes a good or bad venue?

A good venue for one band might be dreadful for another, for the reason that one band was rubbish on that night or was the wrong genre for the venue.
Some bands might prefer unpaid rockin' jam sessions whereas others like a fixed high price but with less responsive audiences. Both could be the case at "good" venues.
A good venue might change promotors and become a nightmare to play or vice versa.
Maybe it would be better to decide on some ground rules for inclusion on these lists, like you must quantify your statements, perhaps posting it in General Bass Discussion to get more views and therefore more feedback about it might be an idea. If it catches on, you could approach the mods and suggest it to be pinned in the gigs forum. I'm happy to stand corrected on any of this or clarify anything that I haven't expressed clearly enough.
 20.
He is anal about his own stuff and worse about other peoples. It has been known for him to get the lend of something only for it to be returned in better condition, He went through a phase of borrowing guitars people had lying about giving them a full set up cleaning pots bit of polish etc gigging them a few times and handing them back
Brilliant! Them: "Can I have a go on your bass?" Me: "Sure, can I have a go on your wife?" Not really, I'm generally not too bothered if it's someone I know asking, they'll know to be careful. If it's someone I don't I might still give them a go if they look alright but I'll be standing literally within inches poised to remove it from their grasp should anything spook me (like it transpiring that they're a drummer). If they don't ask, hackles do rise. Kids, no worries, in a carpetted, padded environment!
 21.
Sunday night depping gig with Funkifive ( some of my ex band mates from SOUL7 ) so knew most of the stuff without needing to rehearse at the Duke of Leeds at New Mill near Holmfirth ( last of the summer wine country ) Nice chilled out gig with a reasonably receptive crowd and it was so nice to be a "passenger" in set up and strip down instead of rushing about for an hour to sort PA, lights, sound etc
Does Anne still run the place?
 22.
Read the wedding gigs thread linked from my sig. and work out how much money you want in your hand at the end of it to make it worth while.
+1 for the Wedding Gigs thread. Also, some of this ground was covered here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=70838&hl= Worth a quick scan.
 23.
This is tempting fate... I'm now waiting for the first.... "I'd been playing for twenty minutes and I could play Portrait of Tracey" (or any other nightmare part you care to mention)
Basschat members have always struck me as more modest and at times self-depricating than that. I'm prepared to be proved wrong though.
