  1. For me definitely one of the most underrated bassists of the last 15 years is Roy Mitchell Cardenas of Mutemath. Damn fine player. I tried to start a thread on Roy's playing here, not a single reply. Very underrated and it would seem not that well known.
  2. I sold a natural finish Music Man Stingray HS on here almost 3 years back. I had it for 9 years from new and it was awesome; I just really needed to raise cash quickly for my wedding. It's the only bass I've sold that I deeply regretted. A guy in Belgium has it now. However, I miss it but my back and shoulders miss it less so 😉.
  3. Mate you must have been a teenager in the 90s (like me).
  4. Lovely bass, that silver finish is very striking. Is that a picture of Jet from Gladiators on the wall in the background? 🤪
  5. That's the most pristine, least DIY punk rock set of gnashers I've ever seen.
  6. Just received my second attempt at a Gumtree Paypal scam for the same bass!! This time they bypassed messaging me via Gumtree and WhatsApped me with the old 'I'll PayPal you the funds without trying out the bass, and then arrange a courier' chestnut. This is getting old!
  7. Just goes to show even the greats can have a duff gig...😂
  8. Awesome stuff. Stewart Copeland especially is absolutely monstrous on drums during the footage - playing with the energy of someone half his age. For me it's better than the 2007 Led Zeppelin reunion gig. They play some cool album tracks too in addition to the hits. I've always found a lot of their biggest hits to be their worst songs (De do do do). I'd have loved to have seen some of the lesser known album tracks played live on this film though (eg: Bring on the Night, Omega Man).
  9. I didn't. Damn!!! That has killed the vibe stone dead 😂😖
  10. If you can sell the bass, and get that cash in hand, navigating through all the time consuming knuckle draggers and scammers will all be worthwhile. You can also be safe in the knowledge that you haven't given a penny to eBay or PayPal - two corporations who are totally okay with allowing unscrupulous buyers to screw over sellers and don't even bother to properly investigate the cases.
  11. I have to say my experiences of trying to sell stuff on Gumtree in the past has repeatedly been to marvel in disbelief at how many time wasting morons you have to suffer. Continuing the same trend I recently listed a bass, first message was a PayPal scammer with a made up sob story about poor health, the second was someone who asked if it was still available - yes it was, could he come and try it out? Yes- how about an evening that week? Then nothing, never heard from him again. Well done buddy, really great to chat! Don't get me started on people messaging you with laughably low offers, not turning up for an agreed meet up, or asking you questions that are all answered in the text on the listing. But hey... it's character building.🤦‍♂️
  12. I hear that, certainly does suck being a grownup sometimes. Thanks again and good luck with the bathroom and PC replacements 👍
  13. Yes, I can't argue with that. Fingers crossed live music and gigging opportunities will start to slowly pick up in the coming months 🤞👍
  14. Bank Holiday Monday PRICE DROP!!! Now £380. These retail new at 799 euros and are not easy to get hold of in the UK so come on, grab yourself the best sounding, highest quality acoustic bass available anywhere on Earth for this price. Any interest for the Robot??
  15. Thanks man, I would agree - it is a real belter. Feel free to come and try it out if you find yourself in the area 👍👍
  16. I'm selling my super-lovely acoustic bass. It is legitimately the best, fullest and loudest sounding acoustic bass I have ever played and I've played many and owned a few previously. There is no better acoustic bass for the money!!! Equipped with high-end Nautilus Posydon pickup (with volume control situated in the side of the sound hole,) means the plugged in tone is way better than you've probably ever heard for an acoustic bass. Also comes with the decent Tom & Will gig bag pictured, in very good condition. Plays and sounds great with a very comfortable neck; neck is straight and truss rod is in great shape. Recently strung with an awesome sounding set of DR Handmade acoustic bass strings. Nice! Specs can be found on the Stanford Guitars website here: https://stanford-guitars.com/guitars/lo-freak/stanford-robot-4-fretted/ Condition is overall good, with some finish loss on the back of the neck as shown in pictures, just from playing - so nothing major. There's also a couple of finish scrapes near the heel (as pictured), and some slight scuffs to the headstock top edge which are pretty much unnoticeable. Not looking for trades as I need to raise some cash. Collection from the Preston Park area of Brighton is strongly preferred as I'm not keen on sending an acoustic bass that doesn't have a hard case due to the situation with couriers refusing to insure instruments sent without a hard case. A meet-up within a reasonable distance from Brighton is also a possibility. Here's my feedback: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/306417-feedback-for-edlib-3/ Any questions, let me know. Cheers!
  17. Weight according to my (not reliable) bathroom scales is 9 Ibs. I would describe the neck as having as a D shape.
  18. Hi, Plywood body makes the bass pretty light, sounds nice and resonant too. I'll try and weigh the bass on bathroom scales later on. We've got the DiMarzio pickups running through the active preamp so it's business as usual. The stock pickups were passive just as these ones are. In short, it's still an active bass.
  19. 1997 Ibanez TR200 Bass with 2 band active EQ (serial no: 6011374). I bought this from Japan, I've tried to find more details on these instruments, but this particular iteration of the TR200 only appears in a 1997 Japanese Ibanez catalogue, check the link for more details: http://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/ibanez/1997/en_22.html Excellent mid-level instrument, rare and very hard to find for sale used at a good price. No trade offers please as I need to raise some cash. Includes the following high quality upgrades: Kluson High Mass Bridge, DiMarzio Model P and J pickups, Jim Dunlop Straploks, and Gotoh GB528 Resolite lightweight tuners. Includes original Ibanez gig bag. The bass plays and sounds great, truss rod works fine and the neck is straight and plays great. Condition for this bass is very good for its age; just a small unnoticeable scuff to the finish on the edge of both the top and bottom sides of the body, and a slight bit of finish loss by the bridge pickup when it was upgraded. All unnoticeable unless you look very closely and carefully. Collection from the Preston Park area of Brighton is strongly preferred as the thin Ibanez gig bag for this bass offers very little protection and I'm not keen on sending basses that don't have a hard case as couriers won't insure them. A meet-up within a reasonable distance from Brighton is also a possibility. Here's my feedback: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/306417-feedback-for-edlib-3/ Any questions, let me know. Cheers!
