    GONE

Hi all, Need a sturdy box to send a bass in? I can offer this one free to anyone (locally or otherwise), who can come over and collect it by Sunday 19th of November. I'm in Brighton. If no one comes in for it by then I'll have to recycle it as I need to get it out of my front room. Contact me if you're interested.
  2. For sale is this excellent Gallien Krueger MBS150s- III bass combo in very good condition - as you can see from the pictures. This is a really great 150 watt portable combo for studio recording, small gigs and also works brilliantly with a Double Bass or an EUB. It has never been gigged, is in perfect working order and comes with an amp cover (but not with a power cable). I am selling this as it has served me very well throughout a period where I was not in a gigging band, now that I am; I could do with a bit more power. I would keep it if I had the space and could afford to keep it. Have a look at the specs on the Gallien Krueger website: https://www.gallien-krueger.com/mb-150s112-specs I'm only looking to sell, so no trade offers please. Cash on collection only so come and try this out so you can check it out, I'm in Brighton. Grab yourself a great deal! Here is my feedback thread as assurance of an honest transaction: Any questions, let me know. Thanks.
  3. The greatest rock bassist of my generation. When I was a teenager, for me it was all about Flea's playing. Then as I started getting heavily into STP I realised that Robert DeLeo is by far the more complete musician. I am now 41 and still hold that view. Love this guy and his playing!!

  5. Ha ha absolutely, and get a spare to use as a hood ornament on your car. All the while adhering to this:
  6. I got mine here: https://www.staractionfigures.co.uk/840049820258
  7. Saw one of these online and despite the rather steep price there was no way I wasn't going to buy a Bootsy Collins action figure!! 😁 This guy will be coming with me to the studio in a few weeks when I record with my band. The dearth of funkiness in our material may be resolved subconsciously by his attendance I hope!
  8. Just saw this thread and I too have problems with this design. I have to say that my experience of the new super lightweight bridge on my Stingray Special is that the grub screws on the bridge saddles constantly slip when I'm trying to adjust the action, it's a real hassle. It's the only thing that isn't top, top quality on the bass for me. This flimsy design is really not an improvement on the original pre 2018 chunkier bridge for me, I'd be willing to deal with the extra weight and have a sturdier bridge in return. I think I've also got some audible buzzing coming from vibration of the lightweight hollow saddles when I play the bass acoustically (which is quite often). I had a look on the Ernie Ball Music Man forum based on other comments in this thread, and Ernie Ball send out replacement bridge saddles or longer grub screws free of charge for those affected by the slipping or the issue with the bridge bottoming out but apparently it's only if you can provide proof of your receipt as the original purchaser. I bought this bass used a couple of years back so I'd have to pay to rectify one aspect of the bridge that shouldn't be an issue on such a high quality instrument and still have the flimsy bridge design that I dislike. I was thinking of maybe swapping the stock bridge for a black Gotoh 201B-4 bridge but I'm hesitant to mess with such an amazing bass. Has anyone else done / considered doing this. Is this sacrilegious?
  9. I sold a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass to Mark - it was a perfect transaction! Mark is a great guy; he turned up at the agreed time, tried the bass out, and paid the asking price. We had a quick chat about playing and the deal was done. All in all a very pleasant and easy transaction. Deal with confidence everyone, thanks very much @Brewer62
  10. I've changed my mind before about selling this, so you'd better get in quick and grab yourself a great deal while you can. 👍
  11. Yeah it stays with you. A bit like watching The Exorcist for the first time..
  12. Just been asked the weight of this bass. I've weighed myself holding it on the bathroom scales, weighs in a touch under 4kg.
  13. I think the black finish with black inlays on a maple neck looks cooler than on the limited run red version. And a lot more rock 🤘.
  14. Are you the seller of this bass by any chance? 😉
  15. There you have it everyone. Stone cold proof that this is a legit, one of a kind Geddy Lee Jazz Bass going for a seriously good price, and that @LewisK1975 is a great guy. 👍
  16. BB234s and BB434s. Just asking for a friend..😉
  17. So standard sized P and J bass pickups wouldn't fit into BB basses as direct replacements??
  18. Change the pickups on the Yamaha bass perhaps? DiMarzio do a nice PJ set that are great for the money.
  19. I'm in the process of moving flat in a hurry due to the landlord selling the property so unfortunately I need to raise some money quickly - this is a reluctant sale. As a result of a Fender factory mess up, this bass (serial number: US15099634) is a USA Geddy with a neck with black fretboard inlays (meant for the limited run red version), rather than the standard pearloid inlays. This is a unique one of a kind USA Geddy. More details on how this came about, and some correspondence with Fender to verify this, can be found on this thread from the bass's previous owner: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/302288-withdrawn-fender-usa-geddy-lee-signature-jazz-bass/ Plays and sounds as good as you've heard these basses do, the pickups are absolutely huge and beastly sounding and the tone control is the most effective and wide ranging I've ever experienced on any passive bass. The neck has a unique and super comfortable oiled back of the neck finish in addition to the period-specific finish and binding on the rest of the neck. Comes with Fender hard case with all the case accessories. Condition is overall very good with a dent on the bottom edge of the body, a bit of light finish scratching due to buckle rash and a couple of very small knocks on the headstock (please see photos). Due to the fact I have to move home, this is collection only from Preston Park area of Brighton. The price is firm, and reflects the need for a quick sale whilst also hopefully making it more appealing as a cash on collection only sale. Here is my feedback from previous Basschat sales for assurance of an honest transaction: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/306417-feedback-for-edlib-3/ If you have any questions or want additional pictures, message me. Thanks.
