I was in the Virgin Mega store in Leeds back in the 80's, when Wayne Hussey was walking around with a camera crew. Now I'm a short-arse, but he's even smaller! Earlier in the 80's I met Little & Large at the end of one of the piers in Blackpool. I met Charlie Harper at the 1st Pistols reunion gig, then bumped into him again after a Subs gig in Oslo. He always seems to have a 16 year old punk girlfriend. I said hello to Gaby Roslin after after a theatre show in London - she said hello back! - she was simply stunning.

I'm having a Shuker custom made, and one of the influences is the King bass. So It's 32" with a bend well and LED's. I've played them at the Bashes, and find the body a bit uncomfortable, and IMO they don't look good played low in a rock style - but I am aware that's not what they are about. Like the necks though.

YAY! Bass Bash as the [i]set-up masterclass [/i]was so popular last time, would anyone be up for doing one again? I'd find it useful to be setting up my own following the instructions as it happens.

I just fancy a change, as I'm using my Carvin 5er as a main bass now, so for trade only here's my black passive Music Man Sub. It's been gigged and was restrung BEAD, but now I've put it back to EADG. A couple of minor dinks, purely cosmetic, and the one on the headstock is from having to restring in a cramped area (another has since joined this for the same reason). Controls are volume, tone, half the H to the full H. Comes with the original plate. Most basses of roughly equal value considered. I'm in the Chilterns (which is a posh way of trying to avoid saying Luton). cheers

well you can tell by the lack of bumpage I'm not selling this coz I have to anymore - even though it doesn't fit in my car. It's still at The Bass Merchant, so if you are in that neck of the woods try it out under no obligation. -
I had a Traynor 1x15 combo, with a valve amp. Sweet tone, plenty of warm bottom end, but without sounding muffled. Only 60w though, so the volume wasn't quite there for most gigs. But this was always the yardstick by which all my later amps were judged, until... One of my amps at the mo, is a PJB M-500. It's a tone monster, that classic rock bass tone is all there. IMO it does the Ampeg thing better than Ampegs, and it's SS.
