1. Done the P thing, moved on. A light passive P with a jazz neck though...
 2. It's a Behringer Bass V-Amp pro, in a Warwick 4u rockcase. I bought the V-Amp from G-77 a couple of years ago, put it in the rack, put it under my bed and have only pulled it out a couple of times since. Original box included. I'll say £75.00 for the lot, but I'll let you haggle me down to £65.00. I can take it to the Bass Bash in Northampton. cheers McD
 3. It was the incredibly heavy Z00t I got from Vmaxblues, but Jon Shuker has made me a lighter body for it. Haven't got it back yet as it's gonna be delivered to the Bass Bass, so pictures then .
 4. Like it, and like the colour. What's the neck like?
 5. sorry for another imminent question, but I am genuinely interested: which bass did he use on Alive II?
 6. The Dirt - Motley Crue interesting read to say the least!
 7.
ooo, you guys are playing Luton. May have to pop along...
Let me know if you do, be nice to say hello and to you Si!
 8.
As good as the stories were and as talented a bassist as Guy Pratt clearly is, I thought Guy Pratt actually come out of it as a well, Pratt.
+1. Find a biography of Pete Waterman. No really, I've no love for the bloke, but he's had one hell of a career. All the stuff around the Stiff Records years has got to be worth reading, then regardless of opinions of credibility he changed the face of pop music in the western world. But it's interesting as to how he did it. (BTW who knew Stock Aitken and Waterman produced Judas Priest? The sessions were never released but I'd love to hear them!)
 9. I love this thread! BTW who made the Axe bass for him?
 10.
just bought a MusicMan Stingray 5 so this Sterling has to go candy apple red,2004 build, lovely maple neck with no fretwear, owned by me from new. comes with spare tort scratchplate as well looking for 650 GBP with MM case. If you can take it with a generic hard case (I would like to keep the MM case for my other Sterling if at all poss) I'll do the bass for 575 GBP . next day courier is 20 pounds on top of that thanks Keir
stop it ! Just stop it! A Sterling for £575 when I'm skint? * goes off in a huff to sulk *
 11. Anyone bringing a Boss ME-50B? I'd love to have a fiddle
 12. Tech Soundsystem TVM 2X10 combo & 2x12 cab Iceni bass with Shuker body!
 13. It's sort of like wife swapping, but with bass gear. You turn up with your own, but end up playing with everyone else's.
 14.

LMFAO!
 15.
This sounds very cool - I like it when a custom bass is so truly customer specific! Look forward to following the progress. Alex
I've actually been quite restrained, for example I didn't go for the laser in the headstock that I originally wanted. And as for the Gene Simmons-esque rocket launchers... maybe next time
 16.
That's a disappointingly short build diary.
17.
I do it the other way around - touch the string with the tip of my thumb at the right spot and just play normally!
s'how i do it too.
 18. But what about the fun aspect? It can be great fun just fathing with sounds and effects They might not be used in a band context, but that's not the point. Even so I'm all for pushing the envelope.
 19. Not sure why you have to use a pick for speed? Billy doesn't.
 20.
Been up to Jon's today and seen loads of necks waiting to be paired with bodies. He had a gorgeous lefty 5er finished for some lucky bugger !
yeah, I saw that too. Sweet!
 21.
Same sh1t with me, guys, got a gig next week, and teacher will only (probably) lend processor tommorow, and, against playing-improving material-and-sh1tty-singing odds, I'm DESPERATE to find as much similar sound, as I can. The last time I've asked for the "wtf this effect is" people said it's BassBalls. I need somethin' like that on goddamn GT-6B... Playing Rob Trujillo's solo from For Whom The Bell Tolls of Metallica. Solo's here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AetZXksLdJk Help me, guys, I beg you
that bass sound is horrid IMO of course, your opinion may differ...
 22.
I feel strangely depressed now. That was a lot of bass for a little money, sorry to rub it in. What are you going to do with the money, if you don't mind me asking? Cheers Steve. Just remembered, Monkey Grip!
yep, will be going towards my current build. I'll have to think of a name for it.
 23. OK so was at Jon's today. (no camera otherwise would have taken updates shots of everyones) I've decided against the Phenolic finger board, and am going with Ebony now. The phenolic just looked too synthetic for my pallet. We discussed the body contours and measured up for where my arm rests over the top. Also decided the bottom horn is gonna be a wee bit longer than originally planned. For the drop D, Jon has come up with a simple yet effective button in the neck, which when pressed activates a device to pull down on the string. I saw the proto-type and it works well. We discussed the bend-well depth and string length over it. I said to Jon there was a certain irony in the amount of time we spent on the design of the monkey grip, bearing it has nothing to do with the way the bass sounds or plays Oh, and there were problems with the LED's. I want bright pink, and Jon was sent light red - exactly what we didn't want! All in all, things are moving along nicely and his stock single cut 4 strings are lovely!
 24.
I got one of these sets when maplin were doing them for £50. nice & easy to carry as both halves clip toghther and plash in sync.
yep mine are similar and also flash in sync with the music (more noise = more flashing). They make the difference between looking like your're on stage, or practicing in someones front room. I've got a smoke machine too!
