1. What about a GK drive pedal for that GK growl? http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifiers-effects/gallien-krueger-diesel-dawg-bass-overdrive-pedal
 2.
Hate to be that guy... I thought it was as bad as their Glastonbury set last year. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with being there - which excuses the sound being muddled or not great. The bass solo was a bit of a nothingness really - we all know RT is a monstrous player, so why the dithery mess? And Kirk Hammett's guitar tuning was off throughout, he was scrappy (for him - he was Mr clean when I used to watch them) - fluffed notes and even cocked up a pickscrape in his first 'solo' bit. At points he looked lost, sounded even more lost and then raised his hands up and gave the cocky nod like he'd rewritten the rule book. The first half sounded rushed, sloppy, and then the biggest cheer came for their cover of Whiskey in the Jar... I don't know, Twitter was full of 'Metallica are gods' 'Kirk Hammett is a guitar hero' - I thought they had a shocker. But, whatever, I'm not rich, I'm not them and I'm not headliner of any festival anywhere... Just a disgruntled fan of their older stuff (and Newsted)...
Glad you said it, so I didn't have to say it first ;-)
 3. If Tetley put the T in Tea, who put the c##t in Scunthorpe?
 4.
I suspect it's a measure to keep the strings from oxidising so they keep longer on the shelf than purely environmental reasons. Plus cheaper than bagging individual strings.
Yup. They had issues with 'tarnishing'. The new packaging is supposed to stop this.
 5. 'These days' it's not necessary, as you can just search for a how to video on YouTube. Not saying this is a good thing btw.
 6.
You were saying? (edit - looks like I was beaten to it!)
Nah gotta be all white. The black guard spoils it.
 7. The Beatles were a second rate rip off of the genuine article. http://www.youtube....h?v=Fu3T_2GzXSo
 8. You could always upgrade the pups on the 424. Btw I think the vintage white 424 looks awesome.
 9.
He'd have done better if he'd started at 99p. That way it grabs folks attention. I'd guess it would probably sell for about £200
Close!
 10.
Status Streamline. I have no idea why. Perhaps its because they're unlike anything else out there. I quite fancy rocking one of those in my sh*te pub band, just to be a little perverse...
Happy Jack occasionally cracks his Streamline out in his pub rock band.
 11. Any manufacturer can make a great bass, and price is rarely an indicator of quality. The only advice I would give is play as many bass guitars as possible then choose the one that feels and sounds right in your budget. Then have gas for all the other basses you haven't played
 12.
I quite like that - like a restrained Ritter. Jon.
That was my thought too.
 13. For my band it has more than paid for itself. We have had venues contact us through LEMONROCK and it has been good for finding new venues to approach. YMMV.
 14. Wrong side of the pennines, but never mind I once went to a gig straight from work, via a Chinese takeaway. Much stuffing of mouthfulls between songs in the first set.
 15.
Yes, I keep on buying and selling Fender Precisions in the hope of finding "the one". Fairly sure I`ve got it now though. Previously I`ve had ones which were great players, great sounding, ideal weight, but none of them had all three of those factors until now, which my 2015 US Standard has.
With maple necks?
 16.
Love the double bass drum kit. It was a great time. I wish I'd spent more of it on becoming a better player, but there were a lot of parties to get to, places to go to, people to see. I was too easily distracted.
You mean having a good time - post penicillin pre aids - lucky b*st*rd
 17.
Excellent! Shame you started with a Framus of course ... being of the discerning persuasion meself, I started with a Hofner. So ... these "Beatles" guys ... any good were they?
Hofner? Wasn't that the cheaper version of the higher quality Gibson, that Macca couldn't afford?
 18. What DAW do you use?
 19. MacWifey and I go the the flamenco festival each year at Saddlers Wells
 20. For example, playing 6 notes but only plucking the string once. So one pattern could be ( on the g string at the 21 st fret) : E, C, D, E, D, C.
 21.
Dear All, Hello fellow bassists! I'm on the Experience Engagement team with MUSIC Group, which includes BUGERA, and I just wanted to drop in to clarify the power ratings we use on the VEYRON heads, as well as our other amplified products. As has been indicated here, we rate our amps based on peak power output rather than RMS. To paraphrase our CEO, Uli Behringer, on the matter, this is because we, like many manufacturers, have found the traditional way of measuring RMS with a sine-wave is not necessarily the best predictor of actual amplifier performance. Since maximum power measurements are not standardized across the industry, to assume the “RMS" of the Veyron amp to be 500W based on the 2000W rating would be incorrect. You can read a full explanation of our CEO's thoughts on the topic in this thread on SoundForums.net: https://soundforums....ull=1#post32194 Thanks all, and let me know if you have any other questions about these amps or our other products.
Hi Sean Is it possible to bypass the preamp, so I could just use it as a power amp? So for example I could hook up a guitar preamp, and use the Bugera as a power amp?
 22. No laptop recommendations?
 23. So no shredders on Basschat? Lol In my defence, I'm only doing it at the moment because my band has not got a full line up, so as we are a 3 piece, I'm doing the twin lead bits until we get another guitarist.
 24.
Postage is very expensive.
Not really, it's £40 for postage and a decent gig bag, which considering the low price I'm offering the bass for is a bargain. You are welcome to buy the bass and collect in person for £299.99 case not included
 25.
What was the question?
Something about an old Trace Elliot BLX?
