No refreshments for any of the bands, not even a complimentary drink. Obviously no pay or expenses because its a competition, but the £7 door fee goes somewhere, even though other regions do not charge.

My insurance is free with the MU.

Well to the chagrin of the detractors, I used my f[color=#333333]ully CE marked and EN certified, £2.19 earplugs at rehearsal yesterday (metal band, 2 gtr, drums, vox, bass). [/color] [color=#333333]They were comfortable, the attenuation was perfectly acceptable (although to be brutally honest a slight reduction across the board in the top frequencies, but I can happily live with that ). Micky Dolenz said something along the lines of 'an equivalent would be Leonard Nimoy actually becoming a Vulcan'. The original Tin Pan Alley had a corporate stranglehold over popular music from the late 19th century. So as others have posted, it's nothing new.
