You may not have the source to back it up but you are absolutely correct. The way the timber was allowed to grow, stored and worked makes a huge difference to the end product. Be it a bass, dining table or Timber frame house. Each is selected for purpose and fit for the job. Old wood, allowed to grow properly without the ‘need to harvest to make money’ is a different beast to the new crap available now ( look at the growth rings) I have lots of ‘source info’ for this. It’s my job.

Brand new, arrived last week after waiting 6-8 weeks for it to be built by Status. Only unpacked for pics. Change of direction on project means I don’t need it so thought I’d offer it up. Priced at what I paid inc delivery. Can provide receipt for guarantee etc ( I presume they will honour it but happy to ask them )

Some VERY good news at last - live music back by the Spring?
walshy replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
So we have 19 gigs booked between June and Dec ( mainly Festivals ) and more coming in daily. I still think some will be canned but at least bookings still appear to be strong-ish. I am keeping my fingers crossed! EDIT - make that 21 now. -
I’ve actually sold something and not bought a replacement..............yet

Yeah in the thread I mentioned the Pinegrove Handmade Leather ones. Not cheap but the best I’ve used and the quality is impeccable. I have 4 now 😁

I must admit I am feeling the same. I know what I like, own them all and have tried pretty much all the others. Im sorted for amps ( Valves ), cabs ( big stacks and powered ), pedals and have a Stomp and the amazing Noble pre, I mean what else do you need. I take a fleeting look at the sale pages but admittedly I am selling rather than buying at the minute and nothing screams out buy me. Maybe Ive reached bass gear Utopia?

Im new to this type of pornography but I’ve just taken this one in a trade for my Alpher, only 2 months old and man it’s a corker. Just gotta learn to play a 5 properly. The build quality is mega and it sounds lovely too.

So, I lusted after this for a while and pulled the trigger early last year. Its an absolutely stupendous bass, so beautifully made, lovely playable neck and the pick ups are immense. Sadly the band 'gig' I bought it for is now no longer happening so I am selling to fund a 5er. Happy to consider trades for a nice 5 and I obviously have a penchant for a nice P bass. Bass is almost brand new and hardly played in. Finished in worn white over an ash body this thing is magnificent. Looks super cool, balances well and boy does it sing! The Nordstrand Blades are incredible, loads of output and the 4 way Dingwall rotary switch gives lots of options for tone The 4 positions are - 1 - Bridge pick up 2 -Both in Paallel 3 - Both in series (HUGE) 4 - Neck pick up Comes with an Alpher Hard Case. Can post with my man with a van courier anywhere in the UK.

I used to always take a Quilter BB800 to all my gigs just in case. But having the Noble Pre on my board now as well as the VTDI I won't do that now. My amp gear is pretty much all new ( due to bloody Covid ) so should be tip top when gigs happen again.

Bought Alan’s lovely Sadowsky UV70. Had my courier collect to make things safer and it’s wonderful. Thanks for a super easy deal mate and hope the cash finds something nice 🤘
