1.
Lovely looking bass, how heavy is it?
Just under 7lbs.
2. I'm absolutely made up with my Cazpar 4p (sofa shot posted a few weeks ago)! Perfectly positioned/balanced on the strap, weighs next to nowt, but punches well above its weight. My only complaint was no hard case available from Adrian, but I've got one from Scott Whitley that's a perfect fit and the Cazzie bag turns out to be just right for my Ibanez Talman
3. Picking model names that sound right in English-speaking markets is not the company's strong suit!
4.
Really no idea. It could look great....or it could look yuk I'm leaning towards yuk at the moment ...but you could always try it on some scrap
There's certainly big potential for a 'yuk' result - and no way of knowing until you've shelled out the cash. Have you considered metallic black, white or an off-white such as champagne (bubbly as well as sparkly)? Depends on whether you want sparkly/tasteful or sparkly/shocking.
5. Wasn't in his 'catalogue' last time I looked - must investigate this.
6. The Maruszczyk gig bag that came with my s-s Cazpar is really nice and very well padded, i.e. it stands up on its own when empty. Now I've got a fitted hard case for that, I'm using the bag for my Ibanez Talman, which is a perfect snug fit. Confusingly, Adrian offers a 'Standard' bag at 120cms long and a 'Medium' at 110cms - mine is the shorter 'Medium' one. The bags are available from Adrian's online shop at www.public-peace.de for Euro39 but don't know what p&p would add to that. Shame about the crap exchange rate too!!
7. Looks like you're almost there - apart from the tricky job of stripping/re-finishing. Are you doing that with aerosols?
8.
I'm drawing up the specs for a new Elwood L 4 build, have filled in the form (I used the one from my previous build) and have finally decided on a stain colour. However, there's a standard, sea foam green Elwood 4 with tort p/g available from the shop that just makes me want to buy it and save weeks of waiting. It differs from my spec in many ways, but it's sooo pretty! I must remain strong and stick to my guns
I was very tempted by the green Cazpar he had in stock at time of ordering - but I'm glad I waited for my slightly customised natural one.
9. Scott Whitley had one on his own Shortscale Bass website and the 'bay at the same time as I put this one on here - I know that one's sold.
10. That's just not acceptable - but it happens, and it tends to be us musicians who take the hit to maintain good will with the venues. Having said that, you're obviously better off without this one - unless of course the landlady makes some kind of gesture that makes things better. As already mentioned, the real loss will be if it creates a bad atmosphere within the band. A line I've used whenever there's any kind of disagreement with a venue is: "The fee we agreed wouldn't even be enough to hire our equipment for the night!" Even if it doesn't work, it makes me feel like we've taken the moral high ground!
11. I was on their website the other day and they certainly seem to be - is this something new?
12. PS At least you can't say the timber hasn't been well and truly seasoned
13.
Scroll down and the original details are still there...
Thanks, done it. Hey Ash, that's going to be a real beauty when it's been restored - definitely envious now!
14. "that's what i call pimp action :-)" Go for it!!
15.
Custom Speesy. Been wanting a V bass for a while, but nobody really offered what I wanted!
Dohhh, I remember you posted earlier - must pay more attention. It is a long thread though - and rightly so
16.
Here is a picture of the back and control cavity now it's stripped of parts and the giant back plate. Unlike some JB basses the cavity is quite small.
Only just seen this thread, so fleabay link is dead. Can see from your back pic though that this is a really nice shape. Well done for taking a punt - you're braver than me but I bet you're chuffed to bits now. More pics when you can pls.
17.
This isn't making the wait for my Mensinger any easier...
A few weeks now since I got mine and I love it - what did you go for?
18. Thanks for the crash course in MK - very much appreciated.
19.
I saw on BC many more expensive exotic basses (China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia) than this Zakrzewski Cheers!
What I wrote means it's big value, not big price - in other words, big value for money
20. My payments were 3 weeks apart and during that time the rate fell from an already low 1.19 to 1.15. For anyone who voted to stay in the EU, all this stuff is a bit hard to take.
