I use this strap......... https://www.thomann.de/gb/levys_leather_bass_strap_45_brn.htm

The best bass in my opinion for a blues rock band would be an EBMM Stingray 4H or 5H. I've got a 1993 5H that I use in a rock band and it cuts effortlessly through a loud mix. Hope this helps.

Mysterious Mesa amp(s) problem, I'd appreciate some help
spyder replied to Beedster's topic in Amps and Cabs
The valve with the white top is faulty. There is an air leak. From the web...... White getter on a bad tube VS a healthy tube getter The second thing to look for is the condition of the getter. This is the greyish coating usually found at the top of a tube, but can be on the sides, or both top and sides, depending upon the tube type. Any color from grey/silver, to black is healthy. When a vacuum tube develops an air leak (a small crack or bad seal by a pin for example) this getter color will change to pure white. Hope this helps. -
I've just moved from KZ ZS10 pro to.... https://ultimateear.com/product/soundear-pro-music/ They are more natural with better projection in the all important mid frequencies. I found the ZS10 pro to have to much bass and treble for my taste.

Very true. We all forget that to go twice as loud as 100 genuine watts you need 1000w. So the difference between 300 and 500 watts is very small and might not be even heard.
-
I use a Warwick Gnome head, the 650w version. With the tone controls at noon it has a very scooped and clean sound . A flat frequency can be obtained with a few tweaks to the tone knobs. For a neutral and clean sound with tone controls at noon I would go for the 800w Phil Jones , the blue one.

The difference in loudness between 200w and 300w is minimal. Go for a 500w plus head.

Oh, that's crap. I'm trying to find one at a good price. Will keep looking.

How? What was it causing the fault.

Now this looks very interesting. I have been holding back because I really don't like the screens on most of these units.

The bass is about 10 years old and as far that I'm aware the pickups are the older square style. They are exactly the same as the newer curved pickups, just square. I've played a few other Dingwall basses and the Canadian made ones are a whole different league. The build quality and playability are nothing like the lesser series models. I prefer the passive electronics and have never felt that I needed an active solution. If you want to add an active preamp it would be very easy to achieve or just use a preamp pedal. Hope this answers your questions. Please let me know if you want anymore answered. Marc
