1. The only pic i have since i did the mod is this one. Oh yeah, i forgot to add its got a black PG on but i do have the original one as well.
2.
Currently on the bay, basschatters get priority. Might consider an olp or classic vibe P plus cash?
Ooooooo, im happy to throw in my CV P as part of the deal. How much would you be thinking of knocking off? My CVP has a Gotoah 201 bridge and a Fender 62RI pup in it at the moment.
3. Actually ive gone off them already. I just dont like that long top horn. No reflection of the bass itself though.
4. Not received mine yet but our post is erratic anyway, im sure ill get them before Christmas.
5. No, you buy it before I do ;-). I'm not keen on the Hanson pup but I'm sure combined with the pre amp It will sound fantasic. If I wasn't moving I would have this now.
6. Thanks Michael (and Steve of course) . Ive just kicked my son off Roblox to have a look. Looks like a Hanson pup as well (red and black wires so not a Fralin). Quite interested again now but with us moving flat on Tuesday i cant really get my head around buying anything for a few days.
7. I'm stuck on my iPhone this morning so can't see the pics clearly. Sounds interesting though.
8. Hmmm, I'm getting Yamaha GAS now. Other than a Blazer as my first bass I've never really looked at a Yamaha. Not wishing to hijack the thread but keeping the cost to around £300-400 what Yamaha has a jazz sized neck? Cheers.
9. Other than the above mentioned headstock bashing during gigs I would question why most people would need to tune up during a gig. No offence meant, it's just that I've never gone out of tune whilst playing live. I know some de tune for certain songs so I suppose a tuner is needed. Maybe I don't play had enough.
10. Ive been struggling to buy a new bass recently but my heart just isnt in it. I guess this must mean I'm content with my gear, for now.
11. Thank god for that. Now I can go and but some flooring for the new flat, apparently :-(
12.
Thanks Simon. I have now bought a Gramma pad
Welcome to the club. I had a few strips of platfoam before getting mine but threw them away.
13. I thought the OP was already sorted
14.
Hi guys, all PM's replied to. Just to clarify, im only selling this to make way for a Jazz 5 that i have my eye on, so not really up for trades. Dave, the string spacing appears to be 17mm at the bride, from what my eyes and a cheapo ruler can tell in 30 seconds. You know you want it
This must be great for weddings then ;-) Cheers. I like narrow string spacing so thats good. Having checked the specs it seems close to my old 55-01 Lakland, maybe a bit narrower (even better). I'll give you a definite decision by the end of the day, assuming its still here. I just need to decide if i want to go back to 5 string.
15.
PM'd
Thank god, i really want this bass but dont need it. And we all know how that works. Very, very tempted so please let me know if this goes.
16. Does anyone know what the string spacing is on this bass?
17. Ive got the Polytune app on my iPhone. It seems pretty accurate for what it is but i still dont get the need to have all strings showing at once. Ive been using a Peterson Stroboclip for most of this year. Thats not cheap either (£65) but its more accurate, and tracks a low B etc fine. Ive now switched to using a Snark clip on tuner. That cost me £10 but its just as accurate as any tuner ive owned, at gigs anyway. I tend to use the Peterson more for setups/intonation as its more precise but im sure it doesnt really need to be that good. I really dont understand why people pay so much money for something that gets so little use. Is it the lights (yes Gareth, im looking at you lol)
18.
+1 for the Yammy. Well-made and with a great sound - should keep him happy for years!
Until he finds Bass Chat ;-)
19.
noticed it on this thread, I quite like it but think I prefer adding a few extra pounds to go Jap version. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...=squier+mustang
Damn, that will teach me to only glance at the current page. Maybe the mods can merge them.
20. I must admit i am warming to the Jag look, but more the Fender version rather than the Squier.
21. I just noticed this ugly looking thing on the Squier website. Im sure it will appeal to some but i think its even more ugly than the Jag. Nice looking neck though. VM Mustang
22.
If my Orange goes, the ending may have a twist, mwhaha . Karl.
I hope so, i really dont "need" this bass :-)
23. Never played one but ive read many times the neck is very thin. In my book thats a good thing bu tive read a few people didnt like the bass because of this. I believe they are made in (or crafted in) Japan so should be pretty good quality. Damn, now im going to go looking at them :-(
24. Nice one Im still interested, although as ive said i would prefer a passive one with a Fralin in it. If the pre amp is a decent one them im happy to give it a go. I think i said it in the other thread but if the pup has cloth covered wires i think it should be a Fralin.
25. Did you ever hear back from Chandlers about the pre amp?
