  1. Francis just brought my Paradrvier and comms couldn't have been better. Very smooth experience. Cheers mate.
  2. I think we are possibly overthinking this. It’s a £80 box that does everything. It cant possibly have the same quality as something costing a lot more IMO. I too have been looking at the Plex, but it’s overkill for what I need. In fact for the past few days I’ve used the B1 in bypass mode and have been using my BDDI as the tone shaper. There is definitely a difference in quality between the real thing and the sim, even though the sim sounds close enough. Playing with a pick and using headphones is not ideal with this low end stuff
  3. Typing BQ500 in to the search box opens up a world of information ;-). This thread also includes my experience with one.
  4. I wonder if it has anything to do with the way the devices output the signal. The B1 can drive headphones, whereas the 60B cant, so there must be a difference there.
  5. Well the GE300 looks very interesting, and the price seems pretty good. Interesting that none of the Helix boxes could match the B1 for filters, the big Helix seems quite popular with pro musicians. I think I’d be more tempted if they did a bass specific one though.
  6. Well Its definitely got the characteristics of the Stomp IMO. Its so far away from the B1 Four that i cant see why you would want it, considering you sold your Stomp and never used it, but loved the convince of the much smaller B1 Four. Wouldn’t you be back to square one, having another multieffect that you wont take out? EDIT. Sorry, I meant to say Helix, as in the larger one, not Stomp.
  7. Looks like the Stomp, only bigger.
  8. I guess there’s a reason this only costs what it does.
  9. You can sack a venue supplied sound guy? Agree though, they should be on the ball and listening out for things changing. Back on topic, I’d vote for either a GK MB800 or TCE BH800. The GK is more powerful and smaller than the BH800, but theBH800 has a great EQ section and of course the tone prints. Nice to be able to add a bit of compression if needed. I also agree with the OP about MB heads sounding boring, but i look on mine as a blank canvas that responds well to my pedals.
  10. I believe Cort also used to, or still do, make Lakland Skylines as well. Very good quality coming out off the Cort factories IMO. I loved my 505, but just found i wanted a more traditional 5 string Jazz.
  11. Wow!!!! Never thought I’d see this happen......
  12. Selling my 6 week old Sansamp Paradriver v2. Only used once outside the house at a rehearsal, so in perfect condition. Includes box and all the paperwork/sticker etc. I got this new from Gear4music on 9th April this year. My second attempt to like this box, and as much as i do, its just not a BDDI that I’m used to. All the spec here. http://www.tech21nyc.com/products/sansamp/paradriver-di/ Photos will get posted in the next day or so. Collection from central london for £150, add £5 postage for mainland England. Will not post further afield I’m afraid. Cheers. Dave.
  13. Good choice IMO.
  14. 50% of asking price for a bass? Id ask if they wanted the neck or the body 🙂
  15. Reminds me of the Karl Pilkington sitcom where he gave a sofa away. Guy came round and didnt have transport so Karl had to help him carry it to another address, on the day he was going to a funeral. When they got to the other address it turned out the sofa guy was selling it to this other bloke. The second bloke changed his mind and didnt want it so Karl had to try and get it back too his house. The first bloke wanted £20 to help carry it back lol.
  16. Seller: For sale, practically brand new, never been played outside my bedroom road worn P bass. No marks or scratches........😵
  17. Yes, and price is not an indication of how good a pup will found. I had a Fralin (two over the years) but never kept them longer than a few months. Each time i went back to a much cheaper pup like the 62RI. I am quite partial to the DiMarzio DP122, which i have in my Squier CV P, but its a bit too aggressive to use all the time.
  18. I brought a BQ500 and didn't like it much. Although i never ran it at gig or rehearsal volumes i felt to sounded a bit flat and lifeless when played at home through a TCE RH212 cab. When i had it i also had (still have) a Spectradrive, which is the front end of the BH amp, and using the hedphone out i could hear quite a difference, even with everything flat. i sent it back as it had issues other than me not liking it, and got a BH800. Couldnt be happier. The Eq is very different, and makes a huge difference if you do need to use it.
  19. I miss the battery operation the B3 has.
  20. Its even worse on photography forums. That lot are a nightmare and i dont sell much gear on those forums any more as i just dont have the time to take photos under ever conceivable situation, at every F stop etc, only for them to analyse the photos at 400% with CSI level software and say they can see a slight mark on a lens that could well be a decade old.
  21. Isn't Basschat the place we come to with the intention of wasting time 😎
  22. Thanks DB. That’s pretty much the conclusion i came to. No increase in signal level no matter what i put before the passive input (assuming all pedals are turned off).
