  1. Just the Stomp for me, mind you I’d love to try a Magnum, Jah Wobble was a huge inspiration for me.
  2. Yes, got those.
  3. Alright I’m just looking for an excuse to get one of these (fat chance)...
  4. Well I have had the luxury of playing in a duo for many years so I’ve picked the basses I fancied and tailored my tone to each song. Also I’ve had the absolute luxury of not needing huge volume, what with no drummer and wanting clarity I’ve very, very happily used an FRFR speaker that’s been a glorious revelation... However, I am now in discussion with a guitarist I was in a band with over thirty years ago and have a drummer in waiting. The idea (so far) is to play kind of slow and heavy dub infused grooves with excruciatingly dissonant grating guitar cavorting over the top. Not sure my basses and rig are going to be right for such a sonic sludge bath, one can only try. I’m wondering if, in six months time I’ll have a Precision with flats, a Barefaced 6x10 (or similar) with an appropriate head. What would you use for such a project?
  5. Seriously, if it didn’t have Fender written on it...
  6. Damn I want the Hello Kitty strap.
  7. If you want to try my Rob Allen out you are more than welcome. I know it isn’t long enough or stringy enough! But it would give you a perfect sense of the build quality and how loud it is unamplified.
  8. From The Stranglers website... UK tour autumn/winter 2020 The band have announced that they intend to take a step back from extensive tours with a full production in the UK and have released the details of a ‘Final Full UK Tour’ which will consist of a mammoth 21 date itinerary spanning from late October through to late November. Following the sold out Caerphilly Castle gig last year, a special Welsh show takes place at the 5000 capacity Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff where the band played with Alice Cooper in October. Mid tour, there are a pair of Scottish dates in Aberdeen and Glasgow plus a gig in Stoke, where the band haven’t played in many years. The band make a return to the City Hall in Sheffield as well as the De Montfort Hall in Leicester. Late on in the tour, there’s a show at the Manchester O2 Apollo and a Guildford hometown show before the tour finale at the O2 Academy Brixton. Special guests for the complete tour are fan favourites Ruts DC. 😢
  9. Funny you should say that... ...here are the happy couple. @TheGreek is absolutely right @Ashwood1985’s five string ACG is indeed a monster, Had a go this afternoon, glorious bass, someone will be getting a totally unique, beautifully built bass. I’m rapidly coming to the conclusion that @skelf is the best bass builder in the country, actually, fvck it, best bass builder in the world.
  10. Just sold a Godin A4 to Ash. Clear communication, easy peasy transaction, he was patient with a brief niggle I had with the bass, superb Basschatter. Gentleman, dude, take your pick, he’s both.
  11. Excellent job. Lovely, lovely work.
  12. Sell the Wal and buy a fretted ACG to your exact spec.
  13. Well I’m happy with it. My entire rig is the Stomp into a K12.2. In venues with a PA I use it for monitoring, in smaller venues without I use it as backline and I’m totally satisfied with it. I must point out that I play in a duo, no drums involved. I am just setting up a new band which includes drums so I’ll put it through it’s paces then. If you are getting a PA cab anyway then the K12.2 is excellent. I hear excellent reports about the RCF gear too but I have no experience of them. Whereabouts are you @la bam? You are most welcome to try mine out.
  14. Just say to him what you’ve said to us, sorry dude, your bass lines are sh1te, take it from there.
  15. Mmmmm... https://www.roballenguitars.com/new-products/mb-2-koa-fretless-bass-

  18. I went through an elf last Thursday week, hoping to go through an Orc next Tuesday, just for comparison, obv.
  19. See, now, this is how to run a Bass abash.
  20. Just getting a new band together, just wanted to say Spaffed My Jan is a contender for the name, that is all.
  21. Yes.
  22. I could do with some of that on my steel magnolias.
  23. Me too, just purchased a Fusion Urban bass gig bag, can’t fault it, superb bit of kit.
