  1. Lovely work but can you please focus on what Samuel L Jackson in pulp fiction called “the path of the righteous man” and leave the weedy six string dreck alone? Too much of it and you’ll be refusing to turn down as “you can’t hear it properly when it’s too quiet” and other such merchant-banker excuses
  2. The first album I listened to over and over was Under a Blood Red Sky and I was struck by Adam Clayton’s live tone. Being 16 I didn’t realise that recorded live tone wasn’t like studio bass tone… it just sounded immense..especially on loud For the melodic part I loved, but could not name, Duck Dunn and Bob Babbitt
  3. Who made you King ? Not some watery tart I hope
  4. I felt he did correct his assertion and agree that the pickup isn’t set correctly here he didn’t actually write “I retract my earlier assertion that it supposed to be like that” but I felt saying “that’s not right” is a de facto retraction
  5. 130th is the dusty end
  6. No, @dclaassenyou could invoke your 129th amendment right to bear a bass of your choice, as part of an organised bass event
  7. Warwick do yellow label too, which I think are nickel but red label are stainless steel
  8. Not bad at all. No worse than anything else I’ve tried for the saving I’ll willingly take slightly shorter life
  9. He has, to be fair, already corrected himself and conceded the point.
  10. Nope nor me. edit, I hadn’t seen @Supernaut had retracted. Please ignore my remark
  11. I just use cheapie Warwick red roundwounds and adagio flats. They do the job
  12. I played it - very nice indeed partner urged me to buy it. I, in an utter fkucwit moment said “I don’t need it” 🤦‍♂️
  13. Zombie threads are a constant danger hammer planks of wood clumsily across your phone screen if you want them kept out :🧟
  14. Speaking for my own experience id be buying Japanese non export or Mex classic 50s aka vintera. Honourable mention for mex highway one with the nitro paint
  15. It was a year ago. Maybe he removed those pictures from the linked album?
  16. I have a zoom b2.1u and whilst ancient it does everything I could possibly want and is fairly easy to use
  17. Get a luthier to copy the neck dimensions and make it fretted keep the fret less neck as it is
  18. A 62 wasn’t quite vintage once
  19. I would buy another 78neck and keep the fret less one as it is. You get what you want and it’s non destructive
  20. So that cost around £500…
  21. I don’t think blocks are a big deal to want on a jazz bass neck when you’re paying that kind of money
  22. Fender heavy. Accept no substitute, as Samuel L Jackson said in pulp fiction. tort, naturally
  23. It’s like you’re me. Look up Jamey aebersold and interval training and I cheat and look at the guitarists hands. when they’re not down their trousers … being merchant bankers
