1.
If remember correctly, at the beginning of each video a key is given (written).. Just take a look at the vid, mate Cheers, Faith.
Doh - sorry - I just extracted the audio to mp3! E, E and B respectively.
2. Thanks - can you give me a clue what key they're in ?
3. Yes my gear is much better (62 ri jazz cij and a zoom b2) than me - but I'm still learning so will hopefully grow into it
4.
Works ok for me. I presume you are accepting the terms. and putting an email address in. i have mine opening in iTunes.
I wasnt - I did get Dmans mp3 files to work, but none of these here.
5. How much is a nice condition cij jazz actually worth ? Just wondering ..
6. I'd search for "completed listings" on Ebay if I were you.
7.
Sure, I got a nicely battered MIJ Jazz about 18 months ago, back when the pound bought a lot of Yen. He's called David and is a Kiwi living in Japan. He packs for armageddon and you get exactly what he says - and he does about 40 pictures of everything he sells on his auctions showing all the blemishes and any strange bits. I'd certainly buy from him again.
I own this bass now; its a 94 and has a mint (as in colour) scratchplate. I can confirm that whilst your back of heel decals look right when compared to mine, my headstock decal is much more detailed. Can I suggest that the neck has been refinished and this is a replacement logo decal? Mine also says "offset contour body" and "Jazz Bass ELECTRIC BASS" - the "Fender" decal is gold
8. well, speaking as a CIJ jazz owner in regulation sunburst, I probably am conservative. It may be that most basses are recorded without obvious sound effects and so that sound is strongly associated with that instrument, I suggest this is less true for guitars. However if someone lent me a Charvel, or a Wal, or a Warwick I'd have no qualms trying it.
9. I'm still stupid - I just get "error" when I try those youtube links on page one with webpage Online FLV to MP3 converter help?
10. i may be stupid - how do I get the sound only from off of youtube? soimeone earlier referred to downloading it?
11. Jazzes foe me - trying the 62 ri neck was a revelation. Not sure why mines so trebbly though - lwtait said it reminded him of a rickenbacker!
12. My zoom b2 came from them - no problems to report
13. If I ever went this route I'd want something like a jazz bass but with the bridge much further back (like a curbow) so that the lower frets were closer and less of a stretch
14. is Bass PLayer a UK mag ? If so, where do you get it? thanks
15. Yes that's right I found scale length significant when looking at 5 strings
16. Dive straight in - worth buying a book / dvd so you get most out of it imho
17. i really liked Making Music, I guess it folded a long time ago. Is this the online BGM? I've never seen it on shelves. I'd rather buy a UK mag than one of the US ones
18. I liked Abe Laboriel's DVD "funk bass"
19. Like golchen I'm still near base 1. I'm working on fixing my timing (ie placing notes correctly over each beat) I don't seem to have a problem with pitch, I can find notes with my eyes shut , just rhythm. Too much concentrating on what point the notes occur at and too little on whether the metronome has gone past that point already.. Reading is a different matter, I'm reading ed friedlands's Bass Grooves - I can read around stuff and learn it intellectually till the cows come home but thatisnt likely to help me here
20.
I can split, and have several offers for the boss and fx87 - strictly first come, first served. The dod compressor is still available though
ahpook, I'm sorry - I must have missed you - I got [understatement]quite a few PMs[/understatement], and put the above post up to prevent more coming in unnecessarily. I was expecting little or no interest in these difficult times. The buyer got in his request before you and the others and was very quick off the mark indeed, I was literally stunned. However he was first and offered the asking price. Compressor has also gone now
21.
I use what sounds good and looks good - for me, the Fender Jazz is the best looking bass out there, but I don't have to buy US for it to sound good.
Agree totally - at the notts bass bash I saw an instrument that prosebass made and may well call him when I need new one
22.
I can split, and have several offers for the boss and fx87 - strictly first come, first served. The dod compressor is still available though
I may throw in a multi voltage, multi way mains power supply with the compressor if anyone is interested?
