1.
Which OM was it, if you don't mind saying? I think we are fairly close to each other geographically.
All saints church in Huthwaite - I can hook you in if you want It's fairly social - not too clique-y
 2. Thinking of trying suspicious minds as the host did that song on Friday nights OM with one of his students
 3.
I too wondered what OM was. I figured it out after the first post. The couple I've been to seem to just be singer/songwriter type things, with singer/songwriters playing acoustic guitar singing about the usual.
That's about right where I go - I take my bass as I like to shake things up Thanks for the support folks - the school crossing guy asked if it was me - I hadn't spotted him in the audience He was most complimentary
 4.
You can't beat a Zoom B2 as bit of an all rounder imo.
I really took it along for the tuner and as a sort of preamp but a high output pup in a p bass got their attention
 5. Give me a break - it's something he had written out already and I had just met the guy got the first time that night. I've been there about eight times now and it's the first blues I've heard I was feeling pretty good about this until now
 6. nice price ! Elle est tres belle, lagartixas
 7. a nice redhead said I "sounded f&*(ing fantastic" - they don't get [s]many[/s] any loud precision basses there, I got roped in to play Johnny B Goode with an acoustic (but amped) guitarist and apart from a moment of memory loss in the second verse it went pretty well for something I've only ever heard on the radio. The host jumped in to play lead too. nice tone apparently (but likley helped a bit by my Zoom B2 on the ampeg setting). Quietly pleased.
 8. bah humbug - tis the season to receive tangentially relevant stockfillers
 9. i have an acdc shirt from 1998 in mint condition

 13.
I'm already worrying what the first bitsa is going to look like!
sure - but would you buy second hand like we do with basses ? Not even Dettox spray is going to make that ok....

 17.
Well, I don't know what Santa has got in his bulging festive sac for me this Yuletide season, but Its probably 2 or 3 set of strings for being a good little chap this year. Also, if I leave him my wife under the mistletoe for a while, he might chuck in a years subscription of Bassist magazine...
She's really that good huh ? 18.
I think there are some guys on youtube that order and review instruments regularly. I 'm just off out but I will see if I can put up a link later
That would be good - thanks
 19. Ok fair point They don't really emphasise the different vendors but I do agree
 20. I recall someone ordered a bass that looked vaguely like a fodera Has anyone ordered the more mainstream fender clones? Some of the photos look a bit too much like the real thing to "be real" so what do you actually get ? How close is it ? They have a nice looking sunburst and blocks jazz that's got my attention but I don't want something that looks like it came out a Christmas cracker - I understand it won't be up to the standards of the Custom Shop either Your stories ? Thanks
