  1. i honestly never thought he was an admirable at all.
  2. It’s poly people usually just scratch away at the body and forget about the neck. I rounded the neck off using a metal bar and flaked some lacquer the front by the 20th fret and on the fretboard edges you can get an old look immediately by just rubbing away at the body with a fresh dish sponge (green side) and matting down the paint a bit. Rub a bit harder where your hand would rub or the strap would rub. The key is to think about it a bit and take it in gentle stages rather than to go all out with a belt sander
  3. this was my effort
  4. I did my own, got a generally favourable response on here its not rocket science honestly

  14. @Dad3353 surprised no one else does this
  15. Multimeter between bridge and bell plate set to ohms should tell you that. If 0 ohms or near it then you have connectivity with no resistance
  16. No, earths though the bell plate and pot bodies. Surprised that’s strings not earthed though i
  17. But different instruments from the same year of exactly the same model made in the same factory on the same line by the same crew of people under the same environmental conditions sound different anyway. Even these days with CNC you need to try a few to find the best one Does he not have enough to fill his days ?
  18. It’s obvious isn’t it ?
  19. I cut the end of the pin off at an angle so the string ball slips down it and neither gets stuck on the pin or pops it out see sketch below

  23. Cliff plays a lot of thirds to keep the bass relatively interesting
  24. See I don’t actually mind that because it’s at least in part what bass is about. I enjoy the actual experience of two or more people making music. I find it hypnotic
