  3. bought an EBS pedal from James.... which Royal Fail proceeded to lose. James was helpful throughout and gave me full refund. Couldn't ask for more, especially as the problem was outside of his control. Top guy and deal with confidence.
  4. Don't go crazy with carpeting and acoustic panels straight away - very easy to overdo it and end up with a weird-sounding room that's sounds boxy and lacking natural highs! Better to take it slow, read up on recommended standard acoustic treatments and gradually fix problems as you become aware of them. That, or pay for an acoustician to come in and do their magic!
  5. Bought a pedal from Pablo, great packaging and fast postage. thank again :-)
  6. bought a pedal from Nick, all as expected. thanks!
  7. Sold a pedal to Etienne, quick payment and all very easy. Recommended :-)
  8. bought a pedalboard from Steve, ridiculously well packed and quick postage. Many thanks again.
  9. Updated trades, particularly interested in Sansamp gear for trades.
  10. Not used it with spb3; but I did have it installed at various times along with Dimarzio Will Power, Fender USA p pickup, and Bare Knuckle 58. Balanced well with each of them. Selling as decided to go for matching Bare Knuckle jazz pickup instead in that bass.
  11. Clearing board space for new incoming drives (decided want to try something different), hence putting these up for sale. Finnish B3K, hand-wired by Doug. SOLD USA-made Vintage Microtubes. SOLD Both are in excellent condition, and obviously full working order. Both come with original boxes and some case candy. Two lines of velcro on underside for attaching to pedalboard. Really works well together when stacked ;-)
  12. You really can't reliably assess certain things on headphones - e.g. bass, reverb, etc. Clearly sometimes headphone mixing is necessary, but I can't imagine not checking mixes on speakers (preferably multiple sets). I would say it's really important to hear as many speakers in person as you can. Ultimately you do need to build a pretty intimate relationship with the speakers for them to be a truthful tool - so getting speakers that sound right to you is a good starting point :-)
  13. yup, both passive and active instruments, and also some synthesiser 'warming up' duties
  14. I used to have one but sold it. It does indeed do the whole valve tone thing very well - but I found myself preferring the instrument DI on A Designs Pacifica preamp for a slightly more accurate / hard tone (perhaps the usual difference between valve vs solid state). Truth be told, there isn't a huge amount of difference in active DI boxes once you spend more than a certain amount of $$$ - the REDDI colour is beautiful but fairly subtle. I felt I could use the dosh elsewhere so sold mine. Sometimes I miss it though!
