1.
I am thinking towards the roman numerals which are reminiscent of John Entwhistle's basses. I would put a set of those on a nice maple necked P
hah hah! I ordered JE roman numerals in MoP for my black Warwick yesterday! They should look ace. The guy does custom orders, I asked if he could do the JE numerals and he said no problem, $22. So I have those coming, and a tree of life for my acoustic bass.
 2. Looking at this thread, for me, the only saving grace here is the LEDs. I think for a SH Thumb in that condition, £750 is pushing it. If he'd have been upfront about the neck and frets it might have gone a lot cheaper, who knows?
 3.
Make sure you post some pics when it's done. I'm considering getting something for my Status.
Will do old chap!
 4. Just about to order a tree of life. Custom order for $30. They got back to me by email immediately, bodes well for their customer service.
 5.
Actually, I have some of these and they are unnoticeable to play over. They are also neat, well cut and straight....
Good! Thanks, some rather derogatory remarks on here, clearly not from experience. I'm going to get some for my new acoustic
 6.
Brilliant! How was the Fat Duck? My stepdaughter wants to go there for her 18th, but it's bloody miles away!
I'll stick a review up tomorrow in off topic, mate. It won't be anything like she expects though, I reckon, it was weird and beautiful, and won't be to everyone's taste.
 7. I bought a Washburn AB10 acoustic/electric bass off Phil today. He was beautiful to deal with. Totally honest, very accommodating regarding my faff-arseing about for two weeks, and really hospitable. It was a pleasure mate, thanks.
 8.
I think it's the fact that Nigel managed to record it whilst waiting for his good lady to get ready to go out. A) it would have taken me more than one attempt even if I knew how to play it and Mrs silddx cannot be like my wife who constantly badgers me for an opinion on what she should wear, hence no time to do anything let alone record a vid You'll have to tell us your secret mate.
I tell her what to wear, mate, I was just waiting for her to put it on and apply make up
 9.
Right Nige, that's done it. I'm off to find me a bonfire. Brilliant mate. Pete
 Thank you Pete, don't go near any bonfires mate for christ's sake !
 10.
Hope that's not a bad Ha ha!
No, it was a very pleased and gratified Ha Ha! Thanks for your very kind words Marvin
 11. Ha ha! Thanks mate.
 12. Here's a go at Tempus Fugit by Yes. A few mistakes here and there. I recorded it yesterday while waiting for mrs silddx to get ready before going to the Fat Duck with some friends, more of which later ..
 13.
I have a funny feeling it will sound a lot more like a banjo than you want it to............
good one!
 14.
We appear to have some kind of telepathic mind-meld sh*t going on this evening................
Christ, we do don't we!
 15.
I started writing a pretty long post countering all this but then i decided it wasnt worth the bother.
Good decision, you may have been at risk of acquiring a repetitive strain injury from the typing
 16.
Good point. The cores are probably ferrous. Might sound a bit weedy on a bass though.
What I was thinking aswell, again Be interesting to try.
 17.
As bronze is a non-ferrous metal I'm wondering if the magnets in the pickups will work properly with them. Just a thought.
That's what I was thinking, although it doesn't stop acoustic guitarists using them with their soundhole pups.
 18.
I didn't .....and I'm on the bloody staff! lol Shows how aware of the date I am Si
19.
Am I the only one who's a bit disappointed that off topic isn't being deleted?
I hope so
 20.
Sorry, where's the story about this being an April Fools?
Pure conjecture. I don't think it is an AF at all. I think the OP is serious. There is a lot of crap talked about "RSI". This is an example of it.
 21. Well, the book exists, the OP claims it worked for him, don't think it's an AF TBH. If it was meant to be, it's pretty lame. Meh.
 22.
This thread's quite obviously just an advert for a book rather than any helpful information. I've had tendonitis to the point the OP spoke about (maybe worse, I couldn't even move my hand for a while the pain was so bad, I had to go to an all hours surgery thing where they did sod all anyway. At a proper check up later, there was talk of an op to sort it) and had to give up bass playing for several months, losing jobs (both playing and teaching) because of it. If someone had showed me this book then when I was most desperate, I still wouldn't trust it. It's like all those weight losing, muscle gaining, penis extending, brain enlarging books you see advertised online. They're more damaging than good because they often have various extremes of behaviour/diet in them and even if they don't, they're still fooling people into thinking they're having an affect they're not.
Glad you edited that
 23. Yeah, last years was brilliant! Had me going and I was really concerned I'm afraid sussed this one out in an instant.
 24. Sorry, inflammation of the tendon sheaths, carpal tunnel syndrome, tenosynovitis, tendonitis are psychosomatic? Bollocks. You do realise the term RSI was inveted by the media and is not in any way a recognised medical condition? I would suggest you had no injury at all and your condition fell into the category which Sarno describes. But don't think it will cure medical conditions involving injury, it won't.
 25. HAHAHAHAHA Funny when you get GAS for your own bass isn't it. had the same thing with my Corvette $$. Two tits. Well done
