1. I thought I was a cracking set. It did what it was supposed to do. Top class professionals at the top of their game. Extremely entertaining.
2. That was a great band, I was particularly impressed with the guitarist, great tone and feel.

5. Thinking of putting a Chris Squire Electra style project together. I can get a routed blank from Warmoth for about $140 but with shipping and customs, etc. it's not worth it. Any ideas or recommendations where I could get one made in the UK? Preferably drivable from London. I'm not looking for expensive woods, just a decent bit of ash or alder, shaped and routed to my specs, I'll supply the drawings and I will do all the finishing myself. Cheers!
6.
we use Zed One in Camden (225 Camden Road). Decent enough, not very cheap any more (£48 for 3 hours, after big price rise) but usually can get room at short notice
Christ, that's expensive! Survival is half that, less without the drum kit.
7.
my current band rehearses in a old factory space just at the end of mare st. at the moment, so i've not been to survival or gun factory for a couple of months.
Oh ok, thought you meant you were at Survival all week.
8.
depends a-what ya been a-schmokin' ayfangoo !! i'm here all week.
I'm rehearsing there with Kit tomorrow at 11am. Do say hello! What's your band called?
9.
the gun factory in stoke newington (one of my faves) survival studios in acton (bit of a way out though)
+1 for Survival. Good rates too. been using them for years. It's not that far out, North Acton is really quick on the Central Line and Survival is just off the A40. The gear is decent but not amazing. But it's perfectly fine for rehearsal. A lot of signed bands rehearse there apparently.
10. Top work James! Great to see you both on stage! Lovely playing, lovely groove, great tone, great band. What more is there to say?
11. Hope it goes well, Sarah. And the Race for Life too!
12. In fact the more I listen, the more I wonder which horse steroids you are taking HTF do you get your picking fingers to move that fast?!
13. I heard a few tunes earlier and just bought the album from Bandcamp. I was really surprised, I don't really dig this sort of jazzy D&B gig, but I actually really like it and it really evokes memories of places I've never been If you get me. Mike's playing is truly accomplished, immense technique and the compositions really allow him to stretch out, but they groove so well too. They have feel, they're not just a bunch of tunes to solo over, they are clever, harmonically and melodically rich and the drums are ace! Congratulations Mike, I hope it gets great reviews and that you get the recognition you deserve. Cheers.
14. Probably a Kubicki ExFactor or a Modulus, maybe a ZON. It would be graphite though.
15. I've managed to rearrange things so I'll be there for a few hours from the start. I'll bring the Warwicks. I won't be bringing the POD X3 LIVE but if anyone's thinking of taking the plunge with one of these and want to know the pros and cons, how they work and how to use them in the studio and on stage, find me and I'll be more than happy to talk Looking forward!
16.
Yeah they're cracking basses when you find a good one. I had a Strat once and wasn't overly impressed with that, but the last couple of basses I've tried have been great. My Precision is a couple of years older, and also MIJ, and it's as good as any Precision as I've ever played.
I used to have one. It was a great bass. Cost me £90 about 12 years ago. I just sold a Silver Series Tele guitar too, the guy is delighted with it. However, I wonder if people think they are better than the current Squier Classic Vibes. I just bought a CV '50s Strat and it's a fabulous guitar for the money, great build and tone and I love the neck.
17.
Are you kidding me? if water gets into the pots they will not work properly...water in the neck joint, after time this will have an effect on the wood...some basses have porous finishes..you cant get water out of everywhere..rust is not good on signal points.. use a dummy bass..
I agree, what's the point of taking the risk? B5 - I like that avatar, it's a great shot. Are you going to keep it this time? You are becoming known as "the man with a million avatars" assuming you are male this is.
18. I got my first OBBM (Bassic-Bits) cable yesterday. £20 for a 5 metre Klotz AC110 cable with Neutrik straight jacks - excellent value. It looks indestructible and so well built. Lovely! I'm a total convert and will use Dave (OBBM) for all my cabling from now on.
19. I'm sorry to say I won't be able to make this now. Hope it's a great day! EDIT: I will try to make it
20. The guys I play with are there on the 25th, Transglobal Underground. But I don't play with the mothership themselves.
21.
I was going to ask if you're getting enough salt, but it's already been mentioned. G.
Normal body hydration is also important.
22. How do you know it is cramp? Describe the symptoms.
23. I will happen Wayne, you need to hear the notes though, tuner is not going to help you unless you can't hear the notes. Practice is all.
24. I love my Corvette $$ BO. Extremely versatile, great fundamental tone, immensely fast neck even though mine it the older chunkier variety, superb build and hardware, unbeatably reliable. Can't recommend them highly enough.
