Good for you mate. Pattern recognition is rarely mentioned but it's essential, and if you can elevate your PR skills to more and more complex music, you will develop a very good ear and memory and be able to learn compositions much more quickly. And it's mostly about breaking things down like you did. I think my memory is starting to fail me these days

They are the ugliest things known to man. I know GarethOx on here has one, and is immensely proud of it going by his avatar, but I'm sorry mate, it's a design-distaster, an aesthetic fail of unrivalled epicness.

I've heard nothing positive about Ed Roman. He's been described as an arsehole a number of times. It does look lovely though. Stack knobs were metal so these may be transition model knobs before they introduced the plastic ones perhaps?

"This is a lifetime keeper instrument!" Yeah that's why it's on sale
Apologies for the lip synching... This is what slap bass is for and how to do it right. Of course that's just in my humble opinion: No, actually it isn't, it's FACT! Do enjoy the bass break three minutes in.
That is SOOOOOOOOO BAAAD! In a bad way! -
That's right. Hence why china and india are the world's best footie teams...
And the best most prolific travelling donkey-drowners.

Get a Hohner B2A, they go for £200 on the bay of E and they are light, small, and good enough to keep for life.
These aren't the droids you're looking for. But that is a seriously cool bass and I want one.
You're joking, right? The coolest space craft that ever existed, reduced to a pathetic little bass with a Fender neck. Sad, very very sad
Nik, I presume you will be having a raffle and thus need some bass 'stuff' donations? I will have a dig around and see what I can come up with. Definitely have some vgc tab books (Bilbo!) kicking around, a Precision tort s/p and maybe some other bits and bobs
Good call. I will donate my Bass Builders books/CDs actually. -
I'm still 6.25 inches.
Kinda like a loose Mr Bungle, with badly thought out songs, no hooks and a singer who mumbles at a speed no human can possibly tell what he's saying, even when 'interacting' with the audience. There was a sea of people staring blankly. That said - They are doing well enough to open for Primus and clearly have a fan base looking online so I can't argue with success!
They sound f***in horrible!

"Fretless-bass-is-a-cliche-instrument-and-it-should-be-outlawed"
xilddx replied to Dood's topic in General Discussion
+1 There's a more direct connection with the note, for me. It's also much more the sound I want to hear. String on finger and wood, not string on metal.
I agree with this entirely. A fretless is an entirely different animal and I feel a deep bond with a fretless whenever I play one. Sadly, The music I play sounds better with a fretted, plus I haven't the time to practice hard enough to get the intonation accurate enough, especially above the 15th fret area, it's very f***ing difficult and I could not live with the mess I would create up there. So I sold mine.
