1.
Each time I check out these vids, I like it more Thanks for posting Nige. I'm off to take my ma to hospital in a minute, so will revisit this upon my return.
Cheers Gary. Hope your Ma is ok.
 2. Skip to 2:00 for the dub (if you want to). Wickid drums, dhol and vocal too
 3.
A big thanks to everyone who voted for me, I have been certified thanks to Dad3353. Some great entries this challenge IMHO if Scol33 had entered his remix he would have won. I was well out of my comfort zone with this challenge I can tell you. It took a lot of trial and error to even find direction I was comfortable with. I was working on midi drums for another song when I had this silly idea to see what they would sound like with Hushe Mamba, I never thought it would work has the songs were completely different styles and rhythms but I was desperate for any sort of inspiration or direction. I did and with a little rearranging it started to feel right so I just picked up the bass and started jamming, with the modern beat and the bass line sorted the rest fell into place. Once again a big than you to everyone involved or even just had a listen to the tracks. and a really big thank you to Scol33 for all his hard work and to London Zulu for allowing me to butcher their fine work.
I voted yours. Beautifully produced and it spoke to me, being an It Bites fan and it reminding me of Murder of the Planet Earth Very interesting take on the original. Great bass too. The other mixes were excellent and I'll post some thoughts later.
 4.
I did . DOH.
You made me do it. My Jacobs will never be the same. They are f***ing shrivelled.
 5.
I'm sorry dood, to me it looks like a morbidly obese geezer wearing stilettos. Sorry mate
Not you, the bass.
 6.
Toot toot, I'll just leave this here...
I'm sorry dood, to me it looks like a morbidly obese geezer wearing stilettos. Sorry mate
 7.
I have never got on with single cuts... they are up there with gold hardware and PJ pickups as crimes against bass aesthetics. The only one I've ever considered was a Brubaker that came up on bassdirect a while back. Looked a bit like this;
It's both pretty, and ugly. It's pretty ugly.
 8.
Not a bass but a very close friend of mine had a VIP session with Steve Vai once and got to play his main JEM, he said it was horrendous to play, action all over the place and generally uncomfortable. I think he expected it to be a 'excalibur' type guitar.
That's a surprise. Thanks for sharing that. Stevie Ray Vaughan's main Strat was a total beast, unplayable by most apparently. 13 gauge top E with an action that required a visa to get from the strings to the frets.
 9. If you played Geddy's, Jeff Berlin's, Jimmy Johnson's bass, would the sound, feel, setup, strings and whatever feel that much better than your own? Would their basses feel like magic compared to your own or what you try in a music shop? I've played a few pro's instruments and often they don't feel good to me, there's no magic, no diamonds, they're just like any other bass, but they are totally comfortable for the owner. They've had warped necks, misaligned necks, horrible actions, crap strings .. But the owners are amazing musicians and play these instruments all the time. I know the perfect set up for me, I can get close but I can't add the magic "it's like a new f***ing bass!" ting that Bernie Goodfellow or Martin Petersen can do to my basses and guitars. Over to you ...
 10. I have a Billy Finlayson classical guitar, AFAIK he designs and specs them and has them made in China, then sets them up himself when they arrive in the UK. It's a fantastic instrument. The guy really knows what he's doing, I imagine he's a brilliant luthier/tech.
 11. This kinda music is not my bag, but it's very good. Band is very tight and smooth, nice composition, great recording and it's a nice video. Cheers.
 12. I really like it. Really good songwriting. The production is excellent, so are the performances. And I want your singer's spectacles! Interesting bass, never heard of them before.
 13. Hello Charlie, good to see you on here man. Hope you're enjoying the Gallery. That geezer playing the Incognito bass lines on that cheap Revelation 5er yesterday was a bit of a treat
 14. Just got my 1961 Gibson Melody Maker back from Martin at the Bass Gallery. He routed a neck pickup in, new wiring, side jack fitted, sanded the back of the neck to satin, and a full setup. It plays and sounds golden. Wonderful instrument.
 15.
Thanks Colin! That's great news... In terms of what we might do with the profits., we discussed splitting it between these three causes; Prostate Cancer UK DEC Ebola Crisis Appeal Enable Me Hope everyone is comfortable with those choices, but if not, please feel free to suggest some alternative suggestions. For those that don't know, Enable Me is the charity I work for and it aims to raise disability awareness and provide opportunities for disabled people to fulfil their potential. Nik
Colin and Nik, brilliant! The chosen charities are cool by me also.
 16.
+1. Used them before and very happy with the overall service.
+2 They are fabulous, great customer service too.
 17.
On the subject of dub, check out this acoustic instrument called the yaybahar - how cool would this be on stage with a dub outfit?
f***in ell!! Something tells me he wouldn't want to share a stage with anyone else
 18. I've had nothing but greatness from Uncle Horrid, great comms and great work. Unerringly helpful too. But I've only had custom designed pickguards from him, not a whole bass or big work. I just hope he's ok and in good health.
 19. Haha! I love Ozric Tentacles! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ob9sDpmRuqc and .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSpRha7e404
