1. This was David's band, Apartment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jR6lZuofi4
 2.
And David - It's great that we can celebrate such talents.
Indeed. I suppose it also demonstrates that talent just isn't enough. The way the music industry perceives the markets and the luck one needs to get noticed at the right time are often the deciding factors.
 3.

Wow, amazing voice!
 4.
Yeah, big shame he didn't get any turns but he seems to be getting a bit of interest regardless. He's still busy with his function band, The Beat Brothers and no doubt they will see a rise in bookings following this. I really enjoy playing with Matt - his guitar playing is as good as his vocals too.
He was on the UK Voice?
 5.
Blimey. And to think back in the 70s they used to be Ayn Rand-indoctrinated crypto-fascists. Well, according to the NME, anyway. Jon.
Yeah, according to them w***ers at the NME.
 6. RUSH Lovely boys! http://www.blabbermo...nitarian-award/
 7.
Yes I did see that in your previous posts - he's a British chap currently living in Belgium. If he wins, he could end up representing Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest
Anglo-Italian akshully That would be hilarious to see him on the ESC
 8.
I wish your pal luck - but Belgium is hardly the centre of the musical talent ,I'm racking my brain to think of any musical talent that has emerged from that country. The coaches - Jali Chimene Badi Stanislas Beverly Jo Scott Never heard of any of them. Your pal David probably has more talent than all of them put together, let alone be judged by them.
But he's not Belgian. He only lives in Belgium. But I know what you mean, so his chances are very good
 9.
Thats great, how did he end up on there? (loving the Laphroaig BTW)
He's been a singer songwriter for years. I have his first demos and I loved his voice straightaway. He put a band together called Apartment and they toured with The Killers. But they split up a few years ago and he's since been doing music in various European countries. Brave move going on The Voice (Belgium, where currently lives). I hope he does well. He's a very talented chap, and a great all round musician too.

 11.
Do you read music 2strings? Part of your problem may be assuming that chords change on a beat, whereas they (or at least the bass line) change just before - known as anticipation. Have a look at the piano music for the song, and see whether the lowest note is 'tied' to a short earlier note where there is a chord change. I can't add a pic at the moment (bloomin' iPad) but will try to do so later. EDIT: More thoughts! Some people have a confidence problem that stops them playing on the beat - they sort of wait for everyone else to play the beat, then join in. Is this you? (It used to be me!). Also please tell me you do read music - if not, it is unreasonable to expect you to lead a worship music group, whatever your spiritual credentials! EDIT 2: Sorry just re-read OP and realised you're not the worship leader! Still it would help you to be able to read rhythms if nothing else.
I was thinking the same. Perhaps it's accented changes the OP is having problems with.
 12. I do whatever is necessary to get he tone I like and what suits the music. I found the easiest way to do that was to use a POD X3 LIVE. I turn up to a gig and plug an XLR into the PA. Can it get easier and simpler than that?
 13.
For me, Power Windows is very nearly The Perfect Album. Not a single duff track, wall to wall fabulousness.
Yep! Love it.
 14.
A Show of Hands... they were well down the tubes by then! I signed up on the Permanent Waves tour - Deeside Leisure Centre, June 1980. Rick all the way!!!!!!!
Sorry, I can't agree. I think they were doing their best work at that point. I didn't see them in 1980 but that's when I got into them too, my mate lent me Hemispheres and it changed my world.
 15.
Just because...
Thank you for that!
 16.
I just don't get it with rush ? Always thought them overrated but to be fair I've never given them much of a go as I was turned off by what I had heard...... To those of you who are in the rush camp, please post a vid which you think will show me what they're all about.... Maybe you can show me what I'm missing ? (A genuine request, not a dig )
I did, it's in the OP This is the problem with a lot of people who don't like RUSH. They hear a couple of songs and make the usual assumptions. They are just three great friends making music they love. If you don't like the music that's not a problem, enough of us do love it, enough to keep them going. In fact, they've never been more successful in terms of sell out tours.
 17. Presto was the last album I really liked, not that keen on it these days. Love Signals though.
 18. No. A 'guilty pleasure' is Dido, Pixie Lott, Alain Caron. The Carpenters were top drawer writers and arrangers and Karen Carpenter had one of the greatest voices ever recorded. So don't feel guilty. Alright? Good
 19.
Please excuse me, but... Holy Mother of God, that is fantastic!!
Yep. f***ing hell.
 20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVXMTNKIEak
 21. It's great. You clearly aspire to extremely high standards. You still need to recognise your successes though
 22. Well deserved, Paul! Loved your track.
