1.
Totally agree, luckily these days I am not chained to the desk anymore.
2.
Thank you -much appreciated. I've done a lot of this - mainly as common sense, needing to do it - rather than reading about it etc. For example, my children have said to me, "Dad why are you always stretching and bending your fingers"...I didn't realise I was, consciously, doing it - I suppose to just felt like it needed doing. I've, admittedly recently, started these discussions with my employer, but they are not overly sympathetic......
It's not common sense man, it's specialised knowledge. Your employer is in breach of their statutory duties and you have a legal duty to report any work-related ill health. There's a good reason for that. Get it sorted.
 3.
I have the 5'3" perspective - hence the footrest comment
A lowered desk is a better solution if its possible mate.
 4.
I am presuming that you have full size mouse as well? Adjustable chair and footrest should also be provided as part of working environment.
Footrest is not a requirement unless the floor is too far away with everything else correctly adjusted. But yes, the employer must provide correct equipment and some instruction.
 5.
All correct fella's - I''m using a laptop ALL my working day (with current employers for almost 12 months). Went to the Doctors yesterday. Honestly speaking - I've been ignoring / managing the symptoms for at least a couple of years. As a male - going to the Doctors is an achievement - I really had to convince him that I've been living with this for a couple of years and self managing the symptoms, it's not that I woke up earlier this week thinking "my wrists are a bit sore". I've ordered a separate keyboard to be able to sit in a more neutral position.
Ok, using a laptop all day will f*** you up. You need a full-size mouse, monitor or laptop raiser, keyboard, a desk at the right height and an adjustable office chair that is set up so your thighs and forearms are parallel with the floor. Keep a neutral wrist position, keyboard and mouse should be close to the edge of the desk, top of monitor level with your eyes. No perfect seated posture is any use unless you take regular breaks. 1 min every twenty out of your seat to get your circulation going, 5 mins every hour. Your employer should be telling you this, not me. http://www.hse.gov.uk/msd/dse/
 6. You and your employer are probably doing something wrong, and you need to sort it out quick. No reason you should be getting upper limb disorders from DSE work. Tell me how your computers are set up and on what, what you do on them, and how many breaks you take. Have you had a medical diagnosis?
 7.
There's been no interest in my dingdong for some time. Maybe it's an age thing.
Yeah, the older you get the more of a DING DING it becomes.
 8. Basschat dingdongs just aren't the quality they used to be in the past
 9. And this is WITH the band. Sounds alright to me, and it's a good song. This would have been near the end of the set, and at the end she says the PA is killing her voice. If you've tried singing on stage and the monitoring isn't right you'll know what she means. Despite the sound guy saying he just likes to share, he clearly has a massive beef about not getting paid, and rightly, but to do what he's done is bang out of order in my book, for to me, it's clearly a revenge tactic, and Courtney Love would not be the person seeing the invoice. So, J.M.Ladd, you're a f***ing dick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13QNXpJugBc
 10.
Come on don't bring the thread down, no ones suggesting the cause isn't great or being spiteful , it is was it is and you ain't going to be putting it on your to go playlist either , are you?
I'm not bringing the thread down
 11.
I have one for sale in the market place if anyone is interested
Forgive me, but that's not the model the OP is talking about mate
 12.
No hate from me just a huge feeling of disappointment that an enormous amount of talent has been wasted by poor treatment of said talent and a great song.
Rather sanctimonious and judgemental if I may say
 13. What's the problem? You hate hate hate it, but it's alright, it's has no musical integrity but that's not what it's about is it. Jesus! Peeps! Get a grip!
 14. Mark, you need to go and try some. All this talk of the intrinsic sounds of various Warwicks is just nonsense really. It depends on so many other factors. They are lovely to play, well the ones I have had have been, and they are generally very versatile. Go for the one that looks like you want it to, and see if you can try a few out mate.
 15.
Yep I saw your thread on that it is a corking looking bass mate
Thanks man! It gets gigged regularly too. It's never let me down. But it did need that new bridge and tuners.
 16. I have one. It's a tone monster. I swapped the neck because I wanted a block and bound, has a Hipshot bridge and tuners, and I made a new PG, but the sound in the clip below is the Squier. The active circuitry is very good indeed. Sound can be heard here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/221177-a-first-go-on-the-new-zulu-bass/
 17.
Saw Three Trapped Tigers not too long ago (maybe a year?) and they were brilliant! Thanks for sharing and reminding me about them!
They are superb aren't they.
 18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-k6hw_BemE Tom from Three Trapped Tigers improvising. _______________________________________ This is what he normally does .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUSIJwGj5y4
 19. It's wickid! I love it! Redder Than Red is fabulous! Lovely production and performances, love the bass tone, and your lines are cool riddim. She's got a great voice and attitude. I'm buying that for sure. Class A chill man!
 20. How long is a piece of string? It all depends on the room, the stage, your stage volume, the monitoring, how far away the other musicians are, which song you're playing ... It will probably change throughout the set too.
 21.
Can you give some examples of threads? It strikes me that highly technical bassists get their share of derision too.
No I can't do that, it's just the impression I've formed over 6 years on BC.
 22. Why is it that highly technical bassists largely seem to be loved on Basschat, but highly technical guitarists seem to be denigrated?
 23.
That is what is good about music, something can get to one person and not another, dare I say I dont dig Jaco for example, I have tried but nothing is doing
indeed! Can't stand Jaco's music either. A mate lent me Punk Jazz, I listened to most of it and it nearly killed me
