  1. Now matter how big a name you are, if you're making overpriced products that aren't doing anything special you're not going to sell. Nokia.
  2. Yes, it will be interesting to see how many folk do move their existing M900s on because they are looking to upgrade? Given that it will be six months to a year before we're likely to see any V2s coming onto the market used, there may not be an immediate big knock on to the V1 used prices (if the only alternative is an expensive new V2), and in a year's time another 15% discount on the V1s would be kinda fair enough in terms of additional wear and tear...
  3. Only if we current owners sell, and the fall in used values means (in my case) I'm going to hold on to mine (so I get my money's worth out of it). If others do the same then that is going to restrict supply, which will keep prices up. Which of course then might tempt a few of us to sell our V1s...but then you won't be getting a cheapish V1. Hmmm....😂
  4. It seems like being a good budget version of the FI that doesn't give you a zillion tweakable options or require any need to get into computer editing. Now if I've remembered your previous posts correctly, that describes the sort of thing you like to a tee mcnach?
  5. But actually more on the rear panel with... - 2 speaker outputs instead of one; - midi and USB connectivity - aux in and headphone out (with volume control) - 3 cab sims V1 V2
  6. Some really useful additional features...not so much on the front - where the key difference seems to be the on-board DG comp V1 V2
  7. Lol! Just knocked £100 off the 2nd value of my M900 V1...I'd best get a bit more use out of it then! 😂

    EBS Micro Bass 3!

Looks good. But they defo need to drop the "micro" moniker!! 😄
  9. Thanks for sharing that dB. This is not going to be cheap (US $249) But FC-UK does this look good on paper!!!! UP and DOWN sweep modes analog pitch-tracking system to move the cutoff frequency of the filter based on the notes you play (rather than how hard you play them). Low Pass, Band Pass or High Pass modes Oscillate mode for monophonic synth sounds 100% analog The only two things putting me off getting it are Mr Wimbush's "review" - lol! And the disappointment with Pigtronix's Mothership 2 analogue synth pedal, from a bunch of guys who bought it (mostly in the US) last year. There is some great filter and synth stuff heading down the track in 2019 (shortly up will be the SA C4). Sooooo glad I'm not doing Sibob's gear abstinence thing! 😂
  10. Can we have a then and now pic please? 😄
  11. Or £25 on a bottle of wine when you can get one for £5, eh?
  12. What a (bloody wonderful!) problem to have! Don't settle for second best. Get yourself a Yammy BBNE2
  13. Lots of love for the Fender Rumble 500W from what I've read on BC! Just one point on this and a number of other 500W combos - they only seem to deliver their full 500W with the benefit of an extension cab, so bear that in mind if you're needing a bit more headroom. The only 500W combo I've come across (there may be others) which delivers its full payload through its own single combo cab is the Markbass AC121 Lite. But that's almost double the price new of the Fender...
  14. Cam is that correct? I thought the Stomp did share the same processing power as the Full Helix, which is part of how Helix are differentiating it to the HX?
  15. Welcome to the BB 'nerd' society 😄 There are worse fates. Particularly if you're someone who appreciates playing some of the best non boutique basses on the planet at very decent prices!
  16. Thanks for sharing this one Dave - that pedal does look like it does a LOT in a small package! Looking at its feature set I'd say it was almost a mini Keeley Compressor Pro clone! And that by all accounts is one of the best comps on the market. I do love the ability to use this as a limiter (as well as a compressor), by virtue of it having both a 'threshold' dial and being able to combine this with high levels of compression i.e. > 20:1. Mark from Talking Bass, who is one of my very favourite YouTube bass presenters, explains how the various features (including the 'counter intuitive' threshold dial!) works. I love the compactness and the additional 'specialist' features of this pedal e.g. hard knee / soft knee switch option. In addition over and above the Keeley Bassist Pro it has a clean blend. My Keeley Bassist, which I'm using as a limiter (and it is one of the most effective in that arena - it knocks spots off the usual competition e.g. the very capable Boss LMB-3) could very well be under threat!
  17. Yup Andy - my thoughts exactly! Really looking forward to checking this out and if it has tight tracking, I could very much see this getting onto a mini board to complement the Future Impact sitting on my main board. My only caveat is that I'm guessing at the price point this is coming in at, it will be repackaging of existing EHX Synth 9 digi synth hardware rather than anything new? I've not generally been a big fan of EHX as I've often found some of their modulation pedals (e.g. EHX Pitchfork) to sound a little 'tinny' and, dare I say, synthetic(!) rather than natural, but that's obviously less of an issue in a synth pedal. I found the EHX Bass-Microsynth to be just a little "bland" as well as being pricey. However, I sense this new offering from EHX has the potential to replace the likes of the Markbass SS (which I previously had) and which came out in 2011 and is starting to feel a little long in the tooth at the nearly £300 they are still going for new.
  18. 11 different bass synthesizers designed to work on bass guitar without any modifications, special pickups or MIDI implementation. CTRL knob to adjust a key parameter for each of the 11 synth types. There is also an EXP input that lets the player control an entirely different parameter in real-time with an expression pedal. And (hooray!) there is a preset for each of the synth voices. Ok it doesn't have anything like the FI's versatility, but with a street price of around £125 over here I'm guessing (based on announced $123.50 in the US), it looks good value.
  19. That's a very fair point. It would seem an obvious tweak for them to make, particularly as Zoom and Helix have cottoned on that bass players might be interested in bass multi fx too! But I'm guessing (hoping?) that this won't entirely have escaped Mooer's attention.
  20. 108 digital amp models, 164 effects, 43 optional factory cab sims and a fully featured IR loader. There’s also the Synth Engine, a new tri-voice polyphonic synthesis module with options for wave form, pitch, filters and arpeggiators - with no special pickup or guitar modifications required. The Preamp Live’s Tone Capture offers three different modes: Amp Mode, to capture real-life amps; Guitar Mode, which models EQ characteristics; and Cab Mode, for sampling speaker cabs and creating IR files. Mooer is also promising 10 customisable footswitch controls, programmable stereo effects loop, 30-minute looper with storable loop sessions, external device switching, direct USB audio and much, much more, apparently. It does look amazing. Now just need to find out what they're going to be selling for! ....and then there is also the The Hotone Ampero which @eude mentions below later in the thread, which will be retailing for around £350
  21. That one is lovely. But is it available in the UK or only Japan? (Not seeing it on UK websites...and tbf even if it was at £2.2k new it's a hefty price tag!)
  22. I'm kinda interested that Aria don't really ever seem to have discovered the existence of the B string for pretty much all their flagship ranges?
  23. +1 ^^ You've pretty much nailed it with every single statement there bassbiscuits And seriously, if folk want to understand garish, just check the pic below for a new offering from a much LOVED bass maker (being covered on another thread). Not all new products are going to be hits for either every existing or potential customer. But it's wonderful that new ideas and products are coming to market all the time. Some of them will fly and as a result not every one will be playing a Fender P bass through a SVT valve amp and 8x10 cab. Which of you are not excited or interested in what is going to be coming out of NAMM 2019 or find it offensive that it's happening in the first place, because the 'world doesn't need another [fill in the blank]'?
