  1. I suspect that wouldn't be worst decision you will ever make, by a long way Although several of your BBs are active - do you only play them passively? The folks on this thread who have got themselves a BBP34 / 5 have been uniformly delighted from what they've said... and if you get a chance to give bigsmokebass's P34 a whirl first, well even better!
  2. Congrats Is this your first dip into Yammy basses? I'm loving the fact that you've jumped straight in at the top of the passive Yammy tree!
  3. You've got both a BBP34 AND a P35 on order?!!! 😍
  4. I politely disagree on both counts As the OP said (whom I do agree with on this!): If you go down your definition then pretty much every pre-amp is now a "multi-fx" pedal if they do EQ plus just one other thing (tuner, dirt etc). With due respect, that's bollox. I think a MUCH better definition (obviously from a different less battered dictionary to yours) of "multi" is "a prefix to signify many" and that is certainly the one the industry has been using to date. We had the very same discussion elsewhere and at length about amp makers using non industry standard definitions (in that case of power output e.g. peak rather than RMS) which most of us agreed, I think by about 9:1, was misleading, particularly for newbies. My point about about cheaper multi-fx doing more for less money is about me recommending an MS-60B to a newbie looking for a multi-fx rather than this Fender "multi-fx". It was nothing to do with getting an FI as an excellent synth pedal (which I would also happily recommend). But I've said my piece and all's good. I've had a look into this Fender pedal and it's not going to be for me...and having concluded that I should properly leave the field for folk who are serious about getting one to discuss its merits
  5. Save the Andy Travis (cream) One I can see the campaign starting already... Plus a discrimination case being brought by 'burst basses 😀
  6. Given the price differential - I'm guessing the Sadowsky is like £2k+ (?), you'd kinda hope / expect a step up in finish. I actually totally agree with (at least the first part of) that sentiment, Paul!
  7. Wow - great spot, John, that's a steal! If that had been a 5er, I would have found it very hard to resist!
  8. No doubt he does - and, come on BC'ers, surely Osiris' actual comment should get more "likes" than Cam's approval of the comment? 😂 [Aside - on a more serious note if anyone is aware of a multifx that delivers the excellent bass synth that an FI does please do share - there will be more than me genuinely interested to hear. Neither my Zoom MS-60B nor Zoom B3n are even in the same ball park and @HazBeen who has got much more deeply into his Helix than I have yet managed to do with mine assures me he's not managed to create any patches on that, that come close. It's for that reason the FI is still on my board ]
  9. If someone new to pedals wants to get a "multi-fx" they should get a Zoom MS-60B or Zoom B3n they don't need to start with a Helix Stomp. Both the Zooms are cheaper than the Fender, do a LOT more and frankly aren't rocket science. I gave my 18 year old relation who's starting on bass an MS-60B. It was his first pedal and it's the one he now won't be without. Downloand the Tonelib software and it's a doddle to edit.
  10. Sadly not, other than their spec sheet, as I think they have just been released. However if I hadn't already got a Stomp, I would definitely have wanted to consider this as an upgrade option from my previous Zoom B3n.
  11. I guess my other slight gripe is with Fender describing their pedal as a "multi-fx". That's pretty much bollox. It's just a variation of this (£137 pedal) without an aux in and headphone out, taking up more space on your board for a higher price.
  12. Just DG VMT dirt tonight with my (active) Ibby SR, which seems to pair well. (Whereas I've previously found that the DG B3K seems to work better with my passive Yammy BB).
  13. Pup arrangement is a key difference between the two. TM = J / MM VM = P / MM I had a TM4 which was my goto bass for 4 years before moving it on last year, but don't take that as a recommendation as such for a TM over a VM - if I was to buy one now it's more likely to be a VM5 (with a 3 band EQ, if I could get one).
  14. Trouble is: do I need another EQ in addition to the one on my bass and my amp? (Not really). Is the compressor going to be any good (and better than a £60 TC Spectracomp)? Drive is very subjective.
  15. Relic'd bling! Desperately need a pic to sum that up! 😂
  16. Haha boys - thanks very much. The BBNE2 IS a wonderful instrument; as bassfan knows having tried it out and taken an instant like to it. And obviously you're both clearly not finding the hardware "bling" too off-putting (or I suspect in bassfan's case positively atractive - lol!)[1] I'll have to 'fess to recently turning down a very tempting offer for it recently from another chap who was after one in the same finish in the "items wanted" section: but I kinda worked out that I would have instant seller's regret, particularly as I had waited six months for one in white to turn up. So nope, mine's not going to be up for sale any time soon... What I am still waiting from Yammy is their BB735A with a neck through and individual bridge pieces - a P/J sister of the J/J BBNE2. There would be no hesitation in getting my plastic out for that Yamaha, if you're listening, particularly if you made one in white 😀 [1] But there again some folk are willing to pay extra for their basses to look like beaten up cra*p ("relic'd" I think they're called), so they can pretend to be 'cool', but each to their own eh? 😛
  17. Another +1 for the BB1025. Been in my herd for a year now (I think I managed to get myself the very last end of line one in white from the Yammy store in London, egged on by young Cameron... ). It's an excellent bass. There's a black used BB1025X (X => with pic guard, that's the only difference) in the FS on at half your budget.
  18. Or instead of waiting for Fender to play catch up, you could just buy this instead, which pretty much has all the extra goodies you're after and a lot more besides (just sayin' )
  19. Available from Musik Productiv at £109 A little clip (demo'd with a great bass ) showing several of the new EXH pedal releases at NAMM 2019
  20. PS none of the low B's on my 34" scale basses (Yammys and Ibbys) feel floppy.
  21. Agreed and if the Schecter Model T had a 3 band EQ it would be very tempting. The Yammy BB735A does have that feature, which is partly why I guess you did hit "buy now" on that one
  22. That does look REALLY good! 👍
  23. I thought you already had a back up Para Driver? 😄
  24. Nah yours was about the C4 which is a pedal that's gonna mess with your head. At least Danny's is on the Spectrum. ... Oooh the name of this pedal takes me back a few decades to the launch of PCs. I think it was called the ZX Spectrum... 😄 But unless this new digital SA offering surpasses the MXR BEF, Fwonkbeta or 3Leaf GR2 as a filter or the FI as a synth it won't be tempting my credit card from its wallet...and from that YouTube clip it doesn't seem to come close. Be interested to see if other folk agree with that assessment and / or if anyone actually buys one.
