I'm sure that both the FI and C4 are the more 'capable' synth engines but if you're into ease of use and being able to dial in something quickly and intuitively 'on the fly' then the more user friendly Boss SY-1 may be the better option for you. I'm looking forward to mine landing hopefully in a couple of weeks. Btw - the FI has the 9 presets of the Deep Impact as the first 9 of its 99 stock presets; it's a big step up from its (often ridiculously over-priced!) predecessor!

Ah ok thanks. That explains why it's taken me so long to find a 3 band EQ Spector and why my ears picked up when @mangotangomentioned that the Legend Custom model, he owned, indeed had a 3 band EQ (with a stacked bass and treble pot)! Not clear to me, however, from the 4 knob options which EQ model is on the Legend Custom? This has an independent volume control for both pups rather than volume / blend and then two knobs providing stacked bass and treble and a separate one for mids. I'm hoping Mangotango might know off the top of his head - there only seems to be a reference to the 'US' Legend models online which have Aggie OB-2 pre's in them, and it's clearly not that! Is the BTQ pre you refer to still available? http://www.emgpickups.com/accessories/bass-accessories.html If not, it seems that the 4 knob BQC pre would now be the one to go for with its 3 band EQ and semi para mids. Either that or go for a John East Uni-pre!

Query for you Spector experts (Specperts?) : Other than the Legend Custom, are there any production or discontinued European models with a 3 band EQ? I've not found any to date. What does Spector have against bass players being able to control their mids?

We've apparently been out of a job for quite a while now...😂 Having said that the range feature on the OC-3, which has been out for over a decade now, is pretty cool and I'm not aware of any other octave pedals that have this feature!

Awww, really sorry to hear that! I guess, not being as experienced as many on this forum, one of my biggest fears about older basses is whether they will still be fit for purpose and being able to spot the issues in time. Probably why I have a relatively new bass collection i.e. none currently over a decade old. No chance of returning to seller I presume? If anyone can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear it will be AndyT, I suspect.

That's fair. The purpose of the thread is really to give folk an unvarnished steer on which emulations the Stomp is going to knock out the park and can easily replace existing pedals and where it's going to find itself struggling and therefore re-considering whether it's going to be appropriate. So e.g. if you're a Panda FI user then don't assume that the Stomp will match it. But I suspect on chorus, flange, delay, dirt (particularly if we can get the low end preserved!), compression, octave down (but not up) and pitch shifting, amongst others, it's going to be great - I'm sure a bunch of other folk will be able to add to the comparisons which should then hopefully increasingly make the thread a useful initial reference point.

4. Helix Stomp 0 - virtually any decent Looper 1 Stomp has just a 60 second mono loop ability (30 seconds in stereo). My old Boss RC-30 had 99 presets and 3 hours recording and was a pleasure to use. More modern loopers (e.g. Nux Core) have up to 8 hours recording time.

@petetexas and @JohnDaBass - you gents are far too kind! I clearly struck lucky on the 'clean' and the 'compressor' patches which both seem to have been well received. Equally, if you come up with any decent patches for phaser or chorus then please do share them on the patch ideas thread so that we have have everything together in one handy reference thread. I'll add @jrixn1's shared settings from above to that thread now also.

It's a good venue. Definitely less daunting second time around! But we're pretty much a background side attraction a bit like a pianist at a restaurant, where the main focus is the meal and at BoxPark it's the shopping / eating. The bands (my understanding is that this is a brand new venture for them) are basically there to make BoxPark more of a retail 'destination'. Exactly what is needed if the 'High Street' is going to stay relevant...but that's a whole 'nother topic!

Just getting a couple of clips sorted - will send to singer to get her 'sign off' before making public Drummer has a cheap version of Go Pro and low light and sound quality are a bit pants. Apparently there may be a new model Hero 8 coming out shortly and I'll have a look into whether it might be worth getting one. I was using a good old fashioned video cam and Rode Stereo mic last night - just set and record (unmanned). Came out reasonably well without sound distortion.

I remember you also asked for a clip of my band playing 'Kiss' a while back, as there is no 'bass-line' on the original, so I might just be able to kill two birds with one clip for you here! I certainly agree that both J pups engaged on my Ibby gives a sweeter tone, which ties in with being mid-scooped. Interesting that you say that the PJ setting on my Yammy BB is scooped; that's therefore possibly also true, but I hadn't really thought about it in those terms as it certainly cuts through better than on a solo'd P setting. But as you have a Yammy BB yourself I'm sure you will be correct in making that assertion. But frankly all settings i.e. P, PJ or J on my Yammy BB are harder to hear clearly with earplugs in on my BF SC as compared to the Fearless. It was actually a bit of a revelation and frankly a delight (for me anyway!) to be able to hear my bass line so clearly with ear plugs in for the first time in a full band mix.

Managed to get the Fearless F112 road tested at Wembley Box Park last night. Worked an absolute treat. Really good dispersion - I stood and played at both ends of the stage either side of the drums and no difficulty in hearing the bass. The cab has a real clarity and punch. My BF SC is an excellent cab, but I sometimes struggle to hear my PJ bass clearly when I have ear plugs in (something I've previously mentioned) perhaps reflecting its reputation for being slightly weaker in the mids? No such issue with Fearless which is 'famous' for both its low end and its mid punch and which you might expect with a dedicated 5" speaker focusing on the mids; I could hear every note played clearly (mistakes and all - there's much less scope for hiding with this cab, be warned!) even with ear plugs in. Managed to get some clips of the gig last night and will happily share when I've uploaded. The Fearless will be my default cab for function work going forward. The BF with its blissful 21 lbs weight isn't going anywhere fast though! Overall, as you can tell, I'm delighted with the F112 and would have no hesitation in recommending it.
