  1. All PM's replied to. Confirmation - the pre amp is in fact a John East, not as previously posted - my mistake. Pre amp - covers off pic added.
  2. Back from the luthier's with nice new elixir strings and a perfect set up. Action is so low I sneezed when getting it out of the case and played a minor pentatonic without even touching the neck. Sounding bell like, powerful, warm, thick.........well pretty much anything you want to dial in. its a beast - type bump.
  3. I have one as my running no 2 amp. Completely underrated. I play upright and BG and its perfect for smaller gigs when I need a small rig. These are solid and very good amps and will outlast many of their more trendy rivals.
  4. Price is £550 + shipping - no offers no trades. Ok guys tough decision but I am parting with my Greenboy Fearless F112. I've had this bought from new a year ago from the boys at Tricky Audio. I really don't think I have to explain what this is and that they don't come up often and for good reason. This is a beast. This one is a black crackle finish with a vintage cloth over steel grille. There is no cover. There is one very small paint chip near a metal corner.
  5. Having a full set up at the luthier and spanky new strings type bump

    Moollon JV5

Just a quick update. I took the JV5 up to my friends up at DV247 where they have an excellent guitar tech. We put the JV5 through its paces against a Fender Jazz 5 Elite. Bearing in mind that the Fender is just under £2k and the Moollon was just over 2k I would have expected there to be some level pegging. The Fender sounded dead and cold and frankly dull. The Moollon was bright, expressive with nice dynamics and a good growl when you dig in. Build quality left the Fender dead in the water. The Moollon made the Fender feel cheap and nasty. The JV has a lovely integrated deep b, the Low B on the Fender just wasn't even there. I have played the JV5 against my own 66 and 62 Jazz basses. I have to admit the 62 slab has a bit more thump and the 66 a little more open harmonic content but the JV5 delivers 100% in every other respect. It has to be in the ranks of any super jazz I've ever played and its still less than half the cost of most. It is an absolute tone monster. I'll do a video review over Xmas. I can now see why people have raved about these instruments.

Guys, thanks for the responses so far. I need more people willing to try out this new software in January. Its coming to market in the first quarter of 2018 and it is going to be a game changer for the bands who use it. I am offering a long period of licence free use for people willing to step up and give it a try in the New Year. If you are in two bands or more get on this trial guys or you'll miss out.

    SWR

The mighty Seth Govan seems to do just fine with an SWR Redhead. No complaints there.

  15. Hello All. I have asked permission and gained the blessing of the moderators to post this. I am in life bass player, band leader of a 10pc band and owner of a software company. My company does some really smart stuff of business including creating web applications which improve communication, make sure that things happen what the are supposed to and make sure that when they do everyone knows about it. I found myself some months back tearing my hair out trying to organise 10 permanent and 4 dep musicians. It occurred to me that I should do something about that. I created a web application which enables me to plan control and communicate with my band. That had to include that fact that half the band were in two or more other bands, some are teachers and do other deps. It had to deal with rehearsals, gigs, photoshoots and all of the other stuff. So in short I created this very smart bit of software that means in the last three months, I have not had to make one phone call to organise my band. I know who is where and when, of they are free or not and I can commit them or pencil them in for events. I can even cater for priority of one band or musician over another. I am doing an update on that software over the Xmas break and I'm looking for 10 musicians with two bands or more running and willing to give it a full road test in the new year. This is planned to be a general release product later in 2018. I won't bore you with the details but I promise you that there will be neither cost, nor demands placed upon you save introducing it to your bands and giving it a go. There will be no confidential information of any kind required to use the system and if it becomes the full blown product planned - you and your band members will get free lifetime licence. Can't say fairer than that. Just so we are all clear. This not a phone app, it is not a bit of clunky polling software. This is the kind of stuff that big business runs on and uses the same software technologies as the largest social networking sites. Its proper stuff. I'm using version 1 now and it works well, the new one will be better. It will work on any web enabled device with a signal or line. Please PM me if you are interested. Please note I will have to pick just 10 people for now, and if I get a lot off applications I'll have to thin them out. Once this is all done, and I have the feedback in from here and the other trials we are running, I will update software again and release. If I get there, there will be a deal for all BC members as a thank you. So over to you, if you are interested pm me.
  16. More pictures bump - neck pics requested. This bass has a vet flat but asymmetric neck with the neck being thinnest at the low b and a nice round at the top C.
  17. These are awesome basses. But I have just spent all my pennies so sadly not for me.
  18. Now shipped in Aluminium cell foam case type bump.
