1. My Suggestion? Don't bother. You should be able to sell it here in the UK, even if Warwicks aren't selling easily in the UK at the moment. Once January is over people will start spending again!
2. I don't have a problem with Adam Clayton, or with Warwick's occasional foray into daft shapes, but I really think that Warwick overall need to consolidate their range and bring their pricing back down to earth. Having said that, though Warwicks seem to be struggling in this country due to a shift in taste towards traditional designs, I guess they must still be doing well in Asia and the US.
3.
l, I heard that 08-09 models were awful?
Quite the opposite, in my opinion. My Am Std is very well put together. Plus these now have better bridges and lighter tuners.
4. That's a great take on the Jazz design. The "RIM bass style" elements blend in really well. Very successful.
5. I've found the CV Squiers I've tried to be nicer than MIM models.
6. The body and the MM headstock clash very badly on this. Not a fan.
7.
Anyone think we should have a BC Cool Wall?
Knowing BC I can already see how that would work out. Uncool: Warwick, Spector Cool: Fender, Musicman Sub Zero: Celinder, Sadowsky
8. Underrated - Mick Quinn of Supergrass - comes up with simple but memorable stuff. Actually, the entire band is underrated in my opinion. Overrated - Slap bass. P.S. Wooten is a seriously talented musician, but his tunes don't do much for me.
9. Alot of new Squier Stuff is better than the current MIM output in my opinion. They should badge the Asian stuff as Standard Fenders and switch the Squier decal to Mexico.....
10. My 2009 Am Std P5 is really well made. The current crop of Americans with the new bridges and tuners are really good - they should be future classics. I'll likely be holding onto mine.
11. The current fashion for vintage designs must be having an effect, I guess. I wonder if the pendulum will swing back in the next decade? Will we see skinny guys in indie bands playing Warwicks and Statii?
12. I'm the guy wot bought Niceguyhomer's P5. A cracking bass.
13. Bump for this to counter the discussion of the "other" Thumb currently for sale.
14.
Is it possible to cross reference the IP address with a recent user also selling a 'suspect' bass that was flagged up here and on the Warwick forum?
Hear, hear. It was that thread that sprung to mind when I saw this ad.

The "Rise" era stuff with Bill Laswell is also great.
16. Try a basic Squier Jazz. They can be had for £150 http://www.dv247.com/guitars/squier-jazz-b...rosewood--40732 Anything cheaper from new is a case of "false economy" in my opinion. You save money only to waste it. For a little more money you should be able to get a Squier VMJ. Well worth the extra - it's perfectly good enough for a seasoned player and it will be easy to resell. This would be my recommendation. http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product.asp?id=5360 Keep an eye out for either of the above on the sale forum and you may get a good deal. Cheers-
17. "Asia Music Partnership Ltd" on the label. Selling at a ".co.uk" address. Mmmm.
18. I'd say that it's Yamaha's take on the Stingray HH / Warwick $$ configurations. Yamaha make decent basses, I owned one back in the 90s.
19. Very impressed with my 2009 P5. The new bridge and tuners are great. As for the tone knob, well compared to a Warwick's active circuitry it is very quaint in its limitation, but I find it useful as a tweaker.
20. Did you check that the neck you are getting is not drilled? The bolt holes can vary between models so if it is already drilled you may need to get a bit of dowling and re-drilling work done.
21. My new Fender P5 (see avatar picture) is my current squeeze. Old school tones in a modern 5 string configuration. A great compliment to my modern sounding Warwicks. Now seriously considering getting a 51P reissue for some serious "older school" sounds. Was always sceptical about P basses (probably because I learnt to play on a really cheap and nasty one) but now I'm a convert.
