1. Looks like the strings could be dated to 1981 too Looks lovely.
2.
which model Squier was the basis of this beauty? the Vintage Modified P?
No, just a stock 1991 Japanese Squire Precision, around the time they moved Squire production to Korea.
3. This was my first bass which my parents bought for me about 12 years ago. I wasn't getting the use out of it as I'm not bowled over by the 'P' sound. I couldn't part with it either for nostalgic reasons. My inspiration actually came from the Sandberg California series and the Precision Deluxe mentioned earlier which I saw the bassist from the Deftones playing at Download last year. Just thought that the extra bridge pickup would give the added bite and attack which I crave from my sound. I haven't put it down all day today and I can't wait to debut it at my next gig. I'm sure the work would not be far off what it would have cost to flog the bass and buy one of the discounted Sandbergs at the Bass Centre. Certainly a LOT cheaper than trying to get my hands on an Precision Deluxe.
4. Just got this back from Mr Shuker after it has been thoroughly pimped.

Brass Nut
Jumbo Stainless Steel frets
Tort scratch plate
Badass II bridge
Basslines 1/4 pounder 'P' pickup
Basslines Musicman pickup
Aguilar 3 band pre
5. I have an SR900 which I use in my pop/rock covers band. With the EQ flat it's a very toppy thin sound, but all I have to do is dial in a little + onboard bass EQ and it keeps up with my Warwick Thumb BO just fine. It's a great workhorse bass with great craftsmanship and features you'd expect to find on a bass 4 times the price (figured wood, through neck, through-body stringing, 3 band EQ). I got a shock when I opened the control cavity though as the electronics soldering looks like a nightmare. I'm just glad that I haven't had any faults with the electronics yet.
6. Found this on the Sei site today. I don't think you can fit many more tricks on a bass:
7. Wow! That spec looks pretty in writing, let alone in wood Can't wait to see this one. Plenty of pictures please
8. Initially looking at the Parcel Force pricing guides this would look to be a £35-£40 parcel. PM offers. If I haven't received a tempting offer then it'll be for the 'bay.
9. Final bump before I feed it to the vultures of Evil-Bay. Make me offers, this has to go.
10. I like the newer models too. Pre-1990 models tend to hold their value better so you will be hard pressed to get too much of a bargain on those. Give one of the post-1990s a spin and if you like it you'll find it much easier to pick up a bargain.
11. That does look great. I really like it. I'd like to know if the pickups are anything special too?
12. Errol still makes speaker enclosures on demand yes. If you're interested then i'll PM you his email address. His day job is running the local practice studios here in Norwich www.plugstudios.co.uk
13.
Where abouts are you based? Near Blackpool?? If you are.. Never heard of Naaaridge !
Sorry, it's local speak for Norwich. Nowhere near Blackpool I'm afraid.
14. If that was the right way round then I'd be trying to wrestle it off you. Extremely nice bass you've acquired there.
15.
If you're going down the used route you could buy a 8ohm 2x10 cab and replace the drivers with 2 8ohm 10s then ebay the discarded ones. Work out a lot cheaper than a high end 4ohm cab.
This is a good idea. Especially as i'm selling a 2x10" cabinet for pocket-money at the moment. 16. I love my Thumb BO 4 and I paid quite a bit more for mine than you're advertising. That Streamer Stage II is even more of a ridiculous bargain, but i've already got 3 basses, and that's 2 more than I can play at any one time
17.
I've never used Hartke, would you say it was powerful, loud, punchy?
Those three words pretty much define the sounds I get out of my Hartke 3500. Powerful, Loud and very Punchy. If my amp wasn't so reliable i'd be seriously interested in snapping this up as a backup. I bought my Hartke a few years ago 2nd hand for significantly more than this one is going for. It's got my recommendation.
18. That's a neck join and a half. Is it going to be glued in place, or bolted? If bolted, how many bolts?
19. I had a PM asking what the drivers in this cab were. I've opened it up this morning and they are Tayden Audio Systems 16 Ohm 150 Watt drivers model 10620 GB R. I've taken photos of the inside as well while I had it open.
20. Sei used to be my favourite basses to look at. That Shuker has just overtaken the prettiest Sei i've seen. The work on that is stunning.
21. Wow! That looks gorgeous. I love the slightly more angular shape of the Shuker Elites. That's going to be an amazing bass. Congratulations.
22. Mines a Hartke 3500, so hybrid. I also use a Line 6 Lowdown Studio for practice and PA assisted gigs, so that'll be modelling. Mostly hybrid though.
23.
so it shouldnt be doing any damage to the ashdoown? just easing the load from the ampeg speakers and pushing more air, giving me more volume?
I don't think the extra cab will 'ease the load' on the Ampeg speakers. You'll certainly move more air in total but the speakers in the Ampeg will always sound louder than the speakers in the Ashdown. There won't be any damage done.
